Your favorite Frosting!

Contributor: MamaDivine MamaDivine
Ok, so this upcoming weekend will be "our Easter" with my kids, since the ex has them for the Easter holiday. (boo lol).

So, I was wanting to create some baked easter goodies with the kids! Thing is, I can't decide on a frosting. Ill admit, I'd sit at the table with a spoon and a tub of frosting if my husband would let me LMAO! I love my frosting!

So anyways, at the risk of making everyone hungry/craving etc, because of all my food related topics lately LOL...What is your favorite frosting?

My top faves are:

Cherry Chip
Rainbow Chip
Homemade butter cream

Honestly, if I am ever given anything with icing, I tend to scrape it off. It makes me gag if it's too sweet or too thick.

I only like fresh whipped cream.

Aw man I LOVE frosting. Lol. My favorite is strawberry. I make one hell of a fabulous strawberry cake with strawberry icing! For easter, I do a bunny cake. Circle pans for the cake, cut the ears from one cake and the bow tie then use the other full circle for the bunny head/face. It's such a pain to make, but fun and always adorable! Add coconut for the fluffy look

Anyways, that was pretty darn off topic. Lol. I like all frosting! Chocolate, strawberry, butter cream, vanilla usually isn't my top pick though. What is rainbow chip? Sounds good, but never heard of it.

I love the rainbow chip, even though Duncan Hines came out with the Creations. I refuse to pay that much to stir basically Koolaid into frosting.

Oh man, I just thought of an awesome new flavor---blackberry frosting! On a nice, fluffy white cake! That sounds so good. (Do they make raspberry frosting?)

Anyway, I don't really eat a lot of cake, but I love the Funfetti frosting or whatever that is with the teeny chocolate chips that are rainbow colored. And your standard butter cream. Both have to be very cold. One spoonful takes several minutes to eat and it's the perfect jolt of sugar!

I only make frosting on occasion. I admit I use the stuff in the plastic tub. I'm not a big frosting fan, but I like Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Frosting the best. It isn't really "Easter" but it tastes good.

An other one with very little health redeeming qualities either using marshmallow fluff alone (although it will soak into the cake after a day or so if it isn't all eaten) or mixing it with pasteurized reconstituted whipped egg white powder. The Meringue or egg white powder will stiffen the marshmallow fluff so it doesn't soak in as much. Or you can make the meringue from pasteurized egg whites. I wouldn't take a chance with non pasteurized eggs, though.

I know there are recipes on a lot of Amish websites and in Amish cookbooks for this kind of frosting, usually for stuffing into Whoopie Pies. But, it makes a good white frosting, too. A mix of pasteurized meringue and marshmallow fluff.

I'm not a fan of frosting. I just like burrowing my face in soft cake.
My mom makes wedding cakes on the side, and she does an amazing white cake with homemade buttercream frosting. It is DIVINE. After that, I really like cool whip or dream whip on cake.

I love whipped frosting. I always have. As for the flavors, it would either be chocolate or cream cheese.
