I am personally tired of young people (including myself) struggling to understand themselves and others because we have all been mislead throughout our entire lives.
The LGBTQ community have been more than cheated out of so many explanations, representations and support.
School. The one place we are always told you are supposed to be comfortably and safely, yourself.
Wrong.
Because most schools spend more time on telling kids what they should and shouldn't wear, pierce, dye, say, write than they do punishing bullies, assailants, harassers, and teachers who are sexually involved with students.
I think it's time we added gender neutral restrooms everywhere, stopped enforcing ridiculous dress codes, stopped setting up unrealistic body expectations and stopped telling kids that the way they appear is the problem, not the people who attack them for it.
What do you think about body/sex positivity in schools?
What would you like to see change?
