I was just reading on XBiz about how last week Pipedream received a letter from Tiger Woods attorney telling them to stop making and selling the toys, and to destroy any remaining toys. They said they were already sold out of the toys, and will comply with the request.

One of my pals on FB posted this news story, and I was already in trouble for my 'sexual opinions' - now I can say it.
EVERYBODY ELSE SCREWED HIM - why not the rest of us?? Porn actresses can't have ALL the fun!
(Besides, they made their blood-money off of Woods, so it's all good.)

Interesting, although I don't see other people who have porn parodies/toys made of them complaining as much as he is. He's just mad that he got caught, that's all.

Yeah, I have wondered how the legal stuff works with parodies and deliberate likenesses.

Yeah, given that his name and likeness is a brand that sells and earns him millions, I have to imagine it's a copyright he's very interested in protecting.
If you allow someone to use your likeness to make money, without your permission, you open the door to anyone wishing to do so, legally speaking.

Seriously, I never heard Palin or Obama complaining, and when you think about it, they are far more influential.

I think it's also a sense of 'rising above it all' as well, doesn't look right if they respond to lampooning like that because as such huge political figures that's not an unusual occurrence and makes them look a bit petty if they complain.

Might also be a question of added publicity if they do complain though, which doesn't help you out if you're suing for defamation etc.

I didn't even know he had toys...

Yeah, I would have to say that Lisa Ann only helped Sarah Palin.

Man, they should have kept making them. What a blow to him, but I think he kind of deserved it.
