What do you guys think of it?
I currently intern there. I actually work there to be honest, since I'm getting paid for it. I really do like it here, but there are some trying times. You meet people from all walks of life, and it isn't always pretty. We see people with genital herpes all over their face, pregnant 10 year olds, or mentally unstable people who are expecting children.
There are days when people walk in and you just want to cry because of what they are going through. I try my best to lighten up the mood with music, free helpful pamphlets, and I plan activities for the support groups. I actually host most of the ones for teen pregnancy, STD prevention, and the emotional support groups.
The worst thing about working here is the constant protesting. I've been hit in the face with tomatoes, red paint, rocks, etc. on my way out of work. There were days when we had to lock the doors and call the police so that people could safely enter and exit the building.
