Do (straight) man crushes really exist? - from Em and Lo

Contributor: Em & Lo Em & Lo
The phrase "man crush" has become so entrenched in our culture that we've always just assumed that man crushes existed. But could they be a media/pop culture invention? We asked the resident Wise Guys at EMandLO.com if it's true -- do straight guys ever have innocent “crushes” on other guys, like girls sometimes do with other girls?” Our Wise Guys are split down the middle (check out their responses here) -- so what do you think? Is the man crush for reals?

I think some people confuse admiration with attraction.

I have female friends that laugh and tease every time that I make a new male friend. Honestly, it got old a long time ago. Just because guys respect each other and like to hang out does not mean that they are attracted to each other.

Mine crushes on Harrison Ford and has joked he wouldn't kick him out of bed, much the same way I joke how I wouldn't kick Penelope Cruz out of bed.
