Um, I've read a couple of articles where dildos were present at the scene of a crime and a few stories about certain glass toys (that we don't carry) breaking...one woman said her vagina was mutilated by a dildo of undefined properties...but nothing ever came (no pun intended) of it.

Never on my local news, but here is a short feature on the Pleasure Chest from back in 2006. It's actually a pretty balanced view - they have a few naysayers and a few who are in favor of it.

Not toys exactly, but a while ago I heard a segment on the radio about a dungeon where you could have them tape you and your partner using BDSM equipment (and I believe for an additional fee they would even edit it for you, adding music and stuff). They talked to the woman who owned it, some of the people who worked there, and some couples who had been clients. It seemed pretty unbiased, but I can't remember it very clearly.
