Dating a Porn star

Contributor: Airen Wolf Airen Wolf
Would you be ok with your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife being a porn star? Do you think it would make you feel somehow inadequate? Would you watch the movies and be open to discussion with your significant other?

Personally I would be proud to say my husband or my boyfriend was involved in porn movies, especially main stream! I mean really, my guy is a sex symbol and he comes home every night to me...major pride there!
I would love to watch the movies and discuss the scenes or even the behind the scenes with them. It could spark a bit of jealousy I suppose but at the same time I know that they come home to me because we have something more than just sex between us and frankly I'm not a really jealous person. My only concern would be that Mama gets her needs taken care of first!
I know that gay porn pays the best but I wonder if I could watch that...mostly cause I know my guys are not at all interested in being with other guys. Still, it could be hawt if they were willing.
I'm not quite secure enough in my physical looks to try doing the whole camera thing yet, but some day I hope I can live out that fantasy as well. I know both my guys are looking forward to that day as well. I feel so wickedly naughty to be reviewing sexy toys and stuff here at EF that I'm starting to allow those other fantasies acknowledgement...afte r all I am a former "good girl" *shudder* and all the negative stereotypes that go along with that title.

Only if I was their personal and only Contract Girl. I really couldn't do it otherwise .
I think that has to do with us being together/married so long.

I share Airen's view on this-- proud that a major sex symbol chose to come home to me at night. I'm not the jealous type either though, and I think there's a big difference between a man cheating on you and a man who's paid to perform.
Besides the general physical act of sex, I don't think being a porn star would be as thrilling as some people might think. It's a job. We all love sex, but what if you had a whole crew of people standing there telling you how to position yourself, how to respond, etc., etc. Or stopping you repeatedly so they could fix your hair or get a better camera angle. I think it would get old very quickly. It can't possibly be as thrilling as "real" sex, where spontaneity rules and honest feelings come into play to make it truly enjoyable, which is what would keep him coming home to me. But then again, I'm female, so maybe a guy would have a different view on that aspect of it.

It's just their job, and as long as they play it safe and keep me at the number 1 spot in their heart, I'm okay with it. I know who they come home to at night.

This seems like something that would be easier to deal with upfront. Like if you started dating someone who already did porn, then it would just be part of the package. But if you spent a lot of time together, and then one day "hey, I am gonna start doing porn". That seems like it would be a lot trickier.

But my final thoughts on this are that it still comes down to the people involved, their relationship, and their trust for each other. The right two (or more) people can make any situate work.

I think you just about pinned it. All three of those factors have to be met for it to work; if there's a really stable relationship, and a lot of trust, but one of the people is a jealous type or can't deal with it, it's just not going to work.

Personally, I'm not even sure I could go as far as Sammi's "only if I'm his only contract girl." The relationship and trust is there; if for some reason he had to do it, I would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he'd be coming home to me every night. But I still wouldn't like it. I'm the jealous type, and I would hate "sharing" him like that. I'm not sure if I'd feel inadequate, because I have breasts as large as many porn stars (on a slender body), and they're natural. On the other hand, I'm not as slim as they are, and that would exacerbate body image issues.

Honestly, if it had to happen, I'd be most comfortable if he did gay porn, no ladies involved. It wouldn't happen that way, though: he loves a good penis, but only in a harness on my hips.

That last paragraph was HAWT.

Speaking of the gay porn thing - I watched a documentary on HBO about a guy who swore he was straight, yet did gay porn for a living. How is that possible, exactly? I mean, if you have sex with men, doesn't that make you at the very least bisexual?

Not necessarily. It's business, like anything. A person who works at Olive Garden doesn't necessarily like faux-Italian food or even being a waiter/waitress. It's simply your job. Porn, in a lot of ways, isn't really sex for pleasure, though sometimes people do it for that reason. Really, he might just like the feel of it, regardless of whether the person is a man or not. Straight couples have strap-on sex, so it's a similar idea.

But it really just comes down to the fact that it's his job, it's what he does to make money. Also, he might be straight in a relationship way, but sexually open-minded. You can like women for relationships but still enjoy if they probe you anally or if you do that to them. It doesn't necessarily make you homosexual.

Like Sir said, it's just business. Plenty of female porn stars do lesbian scenes because they sell vids, but they aren't in to women.

Why thanks muchly!

I have to admit, the thought of him doing gay porn is going to haunt my fantasies for a while because of this thread...

I couldn't do it - I have been with my guy long enough to not want to share him with anyone else. That means that neither of us could do threesomes and have sex with other people now that we have the love and attachment for each other that we do.

Well, you probably look a lot sexier with that type of body shape than any porn star does. I really am not into that type of person they have in most porn movies - male or female.

Also I agree, both my boyfriend and I are a little bit of the jealous type and it would probably bring up body image issues with me as well. I'm happy with my body but I feel that would be hard on me.

I saw something like that as well. They claimed to really enjoyed the travel and the money. Although, I suspect that they must at least, somewhat enjoy the work too.

I don't think that I would be able to handle it too well if my significant other was a porn star. I've often wondered about that with Tito Ortiz and how he handles his wife, Jenna Jameson being a ex porn star and how that must be for him. I imagine it's a lot of pressure in their marriage.

A LOT of women in porn who are not lesbians do girl on girl scenes. I don't see how it's different.

Why can a woman who has sex with other women "sometimes" still consider herself hetero, but a man who has sex with other men "sometimes" is nearly always considered gay or at least bisexual?

Kind of a double standard.
