I think most people are very boring about dating: dinner, movie, boring. I have taken people on many dates that I find more exciting: usually I pick them up and take them some crazy place like the middle of the desert to look at stars, or to hidden caves I know about at the sea cliffs, or wherever. The people that enjoy these activities are the ones I want to be with, anyway. I pulled this kind of thing on my now-husband and he, apparently, never recovered from "cool date" shock.

My first date with my current love was driving to see him, eating pizza, going to a pet store so I could pet the bunnies, and just talking to get to know each other they can be very fun, you can do something that you both like to do, or try two or more things that one of you likes to do and introduce it to the other!

Agreed though, most dates can be boring because people just aren't creative. But, also depending on the person, a dinner can be plenty of fun!
More creative ideas consist of bowling, ice skating, hiking, going to some sort of gaming hall if you both like video games, a picnic or cookout at a local park, swimming either at a beach or lake if you have one nearby, (boating, jetskis, etc., work too, if you have them available) or even cooking a dinner together and watching a movie in a genre you both enjoy or picked out together.
