Just curious how far into the future others discuss with their partner. My girlfriend and of (of 1.5 years) have discussed 5 years into the future.

It's casual so not far at all

Honestly, it depends where I'm at in the relationship. If it just started, I'll make plans to hang out a week or two from now. However, when I was engaged, we were planning our wedding that was 2 years from then. SO it just depends on what point of the relationship I'm at.

It changes. Sometimes we talk about where we will be in a year, and sometimes it's 6 months. Our plans change.

We been talking about buying a condo next week. That's as far as we went.

We're quite casual right now, so we don't discuss too far into the future.

There are times that we'll comment to one another about how we need to be open to relocating in the future -- which we both are. But... beyond the next visit? We don't plan.

The only reason I chose 10 years plus is because I'm really serious about not wanting children. If we have the same views on that, though, then that's as far into the future I need to know about.

After 16 years of marriage.....we have covered haunting each other in 100 years, lol!!! Joking, but we have pretty much covered until one of us dies. Not a happy topic, but a very necessary one.

We've talked about wanting children together, but don't have a time frame in mind. We don't really know how long we'll be together (who does?) so it's sort of a take it as it comes and hope for the best situation. 18 months together, for reference.

We talked about it right away in the beginning just causally like to friends would talk. You have to make sure you guys will be on the same page before taking it too far.

I'm not really sure what to pick. We don't really talk much about the future aside from buying a house, which is in the near future. We do talk about wanting to buy certain cars or work for certain companies. Other than that, we just take it day by day.

It depends on how long the relationship has been going on. I'm single right now, but I try to play ahead a few weeks to a month.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months; we're committed to one another and we live together. We talk about a year to a year and a half in the future.

Depends on how long I've been with my partner. If it's really serious, then at least a year. If things are still new, only a few weeks to a few months ahead.

When I was 19 I had a girlfriend launch into this huge discussion not even a week after we got together about her plans to get married and have kids ASAP. Needless to say, we didn't last very long, so I try not to do that to other people.
