D/S and long term relationships?

Contributor: Nissa Nissa Nissa Nissa
As long as the D/S is mutual and there is a level of trust and respect, do you think this relationship within your long-term relationship makes it stronger? Would you prefer these roles or oppose them?

I've always been submissive. I am one of those women who wanted to stay at home with the kids.. do housework etc. I also have in recent years realized that I'm a sub in the bedroom as well. I haven't explored this deeper, or been with a dom but my current guy is open to exploring this side with me.

It feels like it's made our relationship stronger but I'm not always so sure.

If you prefer being in such a dynamic, I think it would make your relationship stronger. However, if the D/s dynamic isn't your style, then if anything I think the dynamic would hurt your relationship. It's all about being satisfied with the relationship. So in your case of the D/s being mutual with trust and respect, I think it could indeed be helpful; in such a situation, wouldn't NOT having a D/s relationship leave the partners feeling unfulfilled, considering both like the idea?

I see your point. I just haven't had one, only had a taste through an online "roleplay" relationship that I had. I really enjoyed it and craved it. Seems like I might get a true taste later on.
