I'm not a tattoo person, but I did learn to never get names tattoo'd on you unless it's your parents, kids, members of your family you know you can't "break up" with.

If I were to get a tattoo, I would probably have initials worked into the art. I'm not that big of a fan of names emblazoned on flesh. Though, when done right, it can look great. It's just not for me.

I wouldn't do it. Not because I think it's a bad omen, I just think it's tacky. I'd rather have something symbolic to us as a couple tattooed on me than just his name. We're planning on getting married within the next year in a small mountain town that we go to every year for our anniversary. I'd love if we both got matching tattoos of either mountains, or a grizzly paw, or something symbolic of that place...it's ours

Its almost a curse, almost every relationship i have seen where one person gets the others name the relationship ends within 6 months, no matter how long they had been together. I know its not something that always happens, but the ones i have seen its happened. Some of them had been together for years, were married, but there were a few that was like 2 years together, so yea kinda expected that.
