Have you ever stayed in a long term relationship even though you felt it was going no where?

I was with my ex for awhile even though I knew it was going no where. Because I did not want to be alone and I did not want to hurt him and I really got along with the family. However he got weird and I had get raid of him. Then when I did he stalked me and everything. One time I was in Kmart, found out this was were he worked. I did everything to try to avoid him. What does he do, but go over to the loud speaker and say would I please come to the deli counter. I had to leave. My husband was with me. This was at the beginning of our relationship. Also few days he showed up at my work. My boss and I were in the kitchen cooking and the bell rang. She went over and she yelled at me that there was a cute boy at the door for me. I assumed it was a friend from school. Haha it was him, I had to tell her to please remove him for me. I am so glad that I moved away from that town. Chances are I will never run into him again.

kind of... but situations can bring different experiences. We always learn from them at the end.

Oh it's so sad...when you love someone so much and you want so badly to be able to piece it together but things just keep falling short. I've made mistakes with people who I loved but stopped being in love with...but in my opinion, one day after you know it's over and you make it so it isn't over is way too long to let it carry on...but that doesn't make it any easier to walk away!

I was in a relationship for 4 years. 2 years into it I wasn't feeling it anymore. I cared for him as a friend and didn't want to break it off. I have learned that it is okay to say I am not happy... that it what I take from that relationship

Yes--years too long. He was my first really serious boyfriend and we were totally co-dependent. It screwed me up with relationships for a while.

I did, with my ex husband.

We were married, living together, and had two children. I didn't want to be alone but the relationship was seriously lacking and was going no where.

It's hard to picture your life without someone after being with them for so long.
