My most successful relationships usually started out long distance. It relies heavily on communication, takes a lot of work, and can drive you nuts, but getting to see that person is so much more special and you tend to appreciate each other's company a lot more during those times.

I think a better question would be "are you the right kind of person for a LTR?" You can make any relationship work if you are right for it.

there definitely needs to be trust, but it can be hard. i think it's important to make time to be able to see each other occasionally, & to keep in touch often. maybe not every single day, but often.
