How many of you (females) would be willing to have sexual activity with your partner while you were on your period?

I really like shower sex when I'm on my period, the mess just washes away!

I love it, but not the mess! I am sooooo horny while I am on the rag, so if I can get hubby to do it, it happens! Usually it needs to be in the shower, cause it's too messy otherwise.

I don't like it if I'm in pain, but otherwise I'm ok with it. My partner doesn't mind at all and wants to do it no matter how heavy things might be flowing. It all washes off!

If it weren't for the smell...that's the only reason I say no sometimes.

My bf doesn't mind blood at all (it's somewhat a turn on for him) so I guess if I'm not too badly cramped up I don't think I'd mind.

I get really horny when I get my period, and on an other thread similar to this, I figured out that nearly 3 months out of the year, when totaled, I was having my period (figure 6 to 7 days every 28 days) and I would NOT go without sex for that long. Not the 6 or 7 days, certainly not 2 and half months in a full year! We have sex once or twice a day, most of the time, and neither of us will go a week without sex.

I don't see what the big deal is. We lay down a maroon King Size sheet folded over, and then a maroon or red towel and have a good time. If it gets messy, so what? We have a shower and running water.

As for "if he wanted it." What if I wanted it? I do, as does he. So, we have sex during my period all the time.

We have also found that in all but the worst cramping, orgasm actually ameliorates the cramps, so one more reason to have sex during your period!

Look at it this way, at an average of 6 days per period, an average of 13 periods a year, that comes out to 78 days a YEAR with NO SEX if you don't have sex during your period. That is too many days without sex IMO.

Shelz, I'm a nurse and I have never learned that there is ANY danger to have penetrative sex during your period. If you have a link, please post it. But, I have never heard anything of the kind.

Also, orgasm helps cramps, and thrusting does not harm a healthy uterus. Some women with either fibroids or severe endometriosis may not want to have sex during her most heavy days, due to pain, but aside from that, there are no health risks.

I love sex no matter if I'm on my period or not, but my husband is squicked by all that blood. We still have sex, but he will only have sex in the shower during that week.

It isn't my favorite thing to do, but if that's the only chance to see my man for a while, it is better than nothing!

I too take issue with the 'if he wanted it' section of this poll. If WE want it, we will do it, regardless of the time of month.

I actually really like sex on my period. All the blood rushing to the area makes things sensitive. I am usually my randiest right before and during my period. I guess those hormones agree with my libido

I agree with only once the flow eases up. There is nothing about it that turns me on. I more so try not to think about it and enjoy getting our needs fulfilled. Depending on my sex drive, we are often sexually active in other ways anytime during that time. I trim the tampon string, tuck it in, and ready to go for touching, toys, etc.

It would depend on how heavy my period is at the moment.

I am usually especially horny during my period so I look forward and enjoy sex at that time, alone or with my partner. I either use a towel or my Throe which takes care of any mess.
For me, sex also helps alleviate my cramps and gets things moving faster thus a shorter period.

I put maybe. I definitely wouldn't do it on my heavy days. Not only to I feel like shit, but I bleed ALOT, so it would probably look and feel like someone is being massacred, which is totally not my sexual style. If it was toward the end of my cycle, where it looks closer to spotting I might consider it if he really wanted to. Thankfully, I don't think the issue will come up with my current partner because he doesn't like the idea either. I also take Seasonique and I only get my period once every three months anyway, so it's not a frequent issue for us anyway.

I've tried it. I think it's kind of horrifying, but if we were both horny and I didn't want to do anything else, I would try it again. I'm just a little freaked out by things coming out of my body covered in blood.

I think it's interesting how people have such varying opinions on this. I wonder what causes the disparities? Upbringing? Blood fear? Openness? Self consciousness? I have no idea.

We use Instead cups (sold with the tampons). I used to use a diaphragm until it finally bit the dust. Keeps most of the mess in the cup unless you're very acrobatic. We don't use on a heavy day, esp with clotthing, but every other day, absolutely! If there is mess, it's light and always after some great sex, so who cares by then anyway?! We don't usually do it without the cup, though...
