I first heard of this fetish doing research when I was shooting Sex Culture. I've never met anyone into it, but would so love to interview someone that is. It fascinates me. Would love some insight if any of you are into it or know someone who is.
Furries, anyone into it?

I was never terribly into the sexual side of the furry fandom, but on occasion I found it to be fun to look at. Honestly, though, I always enjoyed the non-sexual aspects a lot more, so I dunno how much of a help I'd be.

I'm not into it, really, but I'm not opposed to it either. I would be with someone who was/is a furry. I have known many people who were furries. What sorts of things did you want to know?

I find the origins of it interesting. How does one get introduced to it? Do they attend the furry gatherings here in the U.S. or over seas. What turns them on about it etc. @Nire I have seen some of the costumes that were absolutely gorgeous. I love the 18th century Grimes Fairy tales forrest animal looks. I love the fox costumes I've seen. I wouldn't want to try one on, but I do think they are cool to look at.

I think I started a topic about this a while ago. The consensus seemed to be that most people "don't care".

Don't care? As in don't care about the topic, if they have a partner that is in to it or don't care to talk about it here? I'd love to see the thread. Can you bump it for me? Thank you!

Just that they don't care about furries in general. The most common comment was the overplayed "To each their own". I'll go find it for you.

Yeah, not really my thing, but good luck finding someone.

/tacklesnug/ Those who speak do not fur, those who fur do not speak.
Or all the furry people spend their time at fur affinity rather than edenfantasy.

Maybe this is just me but I think I'm to lazy for anything like that. I could never go through all of the time it would take to do something like that. Like putting on the costume and all.

Not all furries are into costuming. It really is a multifaceted fandom. Some are much more about art and stories, while others are more interested in its overlap with animal totems. There's really no one definition of what makes a person a furry beyond "enjoys animal and animal-like characters." From there it branches off in dozens of different directions.

Would a Pet/wolf-player count as a furry?

That's largely up to interpretation. The main qualification of a furry is they have a particular interest in animal-like beings and characters, but even that can be sketchy at times (for example, fans of anime catgirls aren't usually automatically considered furry, even though there is a small amount of overlap between the two fandoms). It's hard to say.

That's a good note. Thank you, I'll look in that direction as well.
