I fucking love it, however I hate the clean up.

Yeah, it's a mess, especially if it gets on the sheets. Fun, but what a mess. Organic soy candles are probably the safest for you, hygienically speaking.

It's not so much for us. However, massage candles are definitely up our alley. The boyfriend just hates so much heat on his body.

I love it, I actually need to look at the candles on here since you mention it! When I first hung out with my partner he was so excited to pour wax on me that he found birthday candles and used them... Definitely was not a fun experience for my cooked skin. I still have the scars from that one, but it sure did feel good!

I love it!!! Especially the candles that have massage oil in the wax so you can massage after you drip. The cleanup isn't so bad with those.

Tried it once and from what I remember, I love it. Haven't had any wax play recently though... A little bit of pain that quickly subsides. Felt so good. I didn't use a massage candle, and actually I think I got lucky that I didn't get badly burned because I didn't even use a specialty candle. I have some though...for when the opportunity next arises.

I think the best part about it is the anticipation and yet surprise that comes with those drips. It definitely did something to my endorphins, but i didn't feel like i'd been 'abused' afterwards.

Used to love it when I was younger...and we never used massage candles or even the cooler burning soy wax, but we were also going for the hotter the better. May not have been the safest thing I've ever done but the pleasure associated with it was well worth it and I can't say that I wouldn't do it again, if I weren't able to find a more body safe candle that produced as much heat.

I tried it once and it was very interesting. Not knowing when the wax would drop (he was behind me) was a big turn on. However, the cleanup was really horrible, and was probably the longest shower I ever took trying to pick it off.

I haven't tried it since then but with a nice massage candle I'm sure I would.

Not sexually. But I do love to play with wax. I have never tried it but I'm not sure that I would like it. I don't deal well with heat lol.

Generally some form of erotic drizzling, or at least that's what's done with it at my house. And massage candles are candles that you burn until you get a pool of melted wax that also doubles as massage oil...it's why the Jimmy Jane candles have that little pour spout on the side and the Shunga ones come with that little spoon.

Well i mean, do you pour hot wax on the body? If so, wouldn't that cause bad burns?

Never tried it and knowing my body, I don't think it'd like it. Sensitive to burns.

EDIT: Lol for posting at same time. XD

It's not for everyone. And if you use the wrong candles that don't have lower melting points (like I did), it can burn (which luckily it did not). Don't get me wrong, it definitely hurts, but that's what I was going for, and it didn't do any skin damage on me personally.

Yup. And at the time I knew there were safer ways of going about it, but I was going for a higher pain level, so I made the choice. In all honesty, knowing it all worked out fine and didn't do any damage, I'd probably do it again if that's what I was in the mood for. Just like getting bad bruises and welts from floggers and whips or bleeding from biting - yes it's damage, but it heals, and is a consensual adult decision.

I find that when done with the right wax like Ember Massage candle by Jimmyjane it doesn't hurt to much and it's easy to clean up. A little of the massage candle goes a long way.

Goth, it's a BDSM form of sensory and temperature play. IMO, soy candles do not get as hot when they burn as say, regular candles you'd put on a table for display. The technique varies, but usually drizzling the wax on your partner's body, usually away from body hair (as it's a bitch to try to remove from any hair) to enjoy the sensation of both the hot wax and the cooling as well as the peeling.

Not everybody is into it. It isn't an every day thing for us, but once in a while it works it's way into a scene.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and it's every higher when I'm aroused, and I can turn Intense Sensation into Pleasure (which I think most people who enjoy sensation and temperature play can pretty much do, most without even thinking about it) which can really turn on the endorphin receptors!

It isn't for everybody, and I'd stick with soy candles or massage candles (we haven't tried the massage candles yet, I kind of like the hardening sensation of the wax, but My Man like that, to each their own.)

Oh, wow, not there for me. Large body surfaces with less nerve endings, like back and belly, breast and thigh. I don't think I could tolerate it in my clit. But, to each their own!

Happy wax play!

OOOO, imo, birthday candles seem to burn hotter than most. They are usually made from very cheap wax, usually paraffin based. Not my idea of fun, either.

I'm going to have to look at the massage candles, too. I have all these points and gift cards to use. I already used my Halloween discount this morning and when I told My Man how much we had to use in discounts, points and gift cards he just looked at me, and his eyes got big and he said, "Don't go overboard, Woman."

Haha. Like that ever works.
