I'm curious what kind of candles are best? I have yet to do wax play but I hear it can be really fun, and often sensual. I played around with some scented candle wax tonight and it was too much for me. I believe the oils can cause the temperature to spike, so next time I will be purchasing some unscented candles.

Love wax play. I have always loved it though. I was a freak even when I was a kid. I used to stick my finger in the melted wax in my mom's candles. Then when I got older, got my own candles and started pouring them on my arms... and then eventually in other places. Love that burn.

I was looking at the old posts and I say now, we are addicted to the JimmyJane massage candles. They are quite different, in terms of sensation than regular soy candles. There is no "hardening" of the wax, so you can't peel it off (which I really like) but they are SO freaking fantastic in every other way, that we use them all the time.

My Man does not like the hot wax, even from the JimmyJane candles (which don't get that hot at all IMO) directly on his body, so I have to blow on the wax, while it is in my hand, so Baby can get a massage. LOL! I like it poured right on my back etc, but he usually blows on it then puts it in his hand first, when he uses it on me because he likes it cooled down. *sigh*

Always, always blow the candle out before using the wax on your body. Even with the massage candles. The chance of burns is less and the very unlikely chance of fire is eliminated. Paraffin candles are really more likely to catch on fire (although it's unlikely) in use than soy or beeswax.

Yes JimmyJane massage candles are amazing. Its not like burning hot hot wax it feels like warm oil I think that is the best to start off with when you playing with wax.

I love it. I even love the burn marks the "wrong" candles leave. I'm just into pain though. I also like how the wax looks when it starts to cool. I love the massage candles, but you don't get the same effect in pain or look. My man likes them though, and he doesn't like pain. I have seen taper candles on here for wax play. I have been wanting to try them out, but I keep forgetting about them. They are only about $7 too. I may have to get them with our next order!

We have tried wax play but honestly, I don't like it all that much and it creates a mess. I found myself picking at my body trying to remove wax that I missed after my initial cleanup.
This girl gets off on pain, so it wasn't the pain. I guess I am also somewhat paranoid about burning candles when I am distracted.

I used to love it, but in recent years, I have become sensitive to smoke and fragrances, so I can no longer be around candles much at all.

You can make a small clay cylinder and fix it around the nipple, then pour the hot wax inside it. Fixing is not a problem because you can use old bikini bra that will hold it in place. We did that before and it worked very well and no more mess is there.

I wouldn't mind trying out a massage candle someday, but I'm not into pain at all so normal candles would probably leave me less than happy.

I've tried it on my nipples before, it was warm and delightful, but it was really only fun once. Perhaps I need a hotter candle.

Oh me too! Never tried ether but I'm planning to buy the big Touche ice for sexytime in the warmer months. I love scented wax and candels I even have a wax melter. But I don't have any of the kind that would be safe for this kind of thing, I'd get burned like bacon.
