17th Wedding Anniversary - what to do?

Contributor: SexyTabby SexyTabby
Hubby and I have been together for over 22 years now but we are about to share our 17th Wedding Anniversary. I really want to go do something special but I'm not entirely sure what to do.

We are leaving the kids home with Grandma I know that part. I'm thinking a fancy hotel and maybe some new toys might be a fun weekend but gotta do more then just sex lmao I'm not sure what new to buy for toys either. Thinking about the Couture Collection Bliss so Hubby can drive me nuts while we are out and about. I don't know.

I just want to do something really special. We don't normally go or do anything beyond dinner and a card or flowers. This year he told me he wanted to get away and really celebrate our anniversary. He told me go plan it and let him know what we are doing...

He's a pain but I still love him. What would you suggest that is special to do for our 17th anniversary?

Definitely get a hotel room. There's nothing better than walking out the door in the morning, leaving the mess for someone else to clean up (remember to tip!).

When it comes to really special things like this I've found they go much better if we both get to do something we really enjoy. So if he's been talking about something a lot lately, figure out how to incorporate it into your weekend/evening.

Though, hopefully he will have thought of something you would like to do and can figure out how to incorporate it. I think it has to work both ways, no one person can do all of the planning and have it be what both persons expect.

Our ideal get away is to hole ourselves up somewhere and not get out of bed for 48 hours; we're pretty simplistic in our desires. New toys are always awesome and get something he would use. Those dice games are a lot of fun if you want to break the ice in some way. Even after all of that time, it can be difficult to let go and be silly about sex.

I wish I had more specific ideas for you, but it's hard to say not knowing much about either of you. I love that you both want to try!

Definitely getting a room somewhere - looking into a 5 star hotel on the bay (Eastern Shore of Maryland) not Ocean City but the quiet side lol There's marina's around and he's been searching for a new boat - figure I can make the trip practical for him and enjoyable for both of us. I'd be just as happy to stay holed up with room service for an entire weekend. I'll get to cut loose and not care who hears unlike at home with kids in the next bedroom sleeping.

Hubby doesn't mind me doing all the planning cuz he knows I'm not going to do something that we both won't enjoy. I do actually have a card game and he rolls his eyes at it cuz some of the suggestions on the cards are really lame Maybe time to update that game. I like to dance but we don't really get to often so I'm thinking we'll need music too.

Hubby and I are pretty much to ourselves not very outgoing or social. I'm a recluse through and through until it deals with photography or my kids. We tend to stay in our own environment. Doesn't make for easy planning lol

Congratulations! Just cater the trip to what you both enjoy doing. Get the nice hotel, go out on the boat, go out to dinner, see some sights and enjoy each other's company. My husband and I usually select a location for one or two things we want to do close by. We plan for those and wing it the rest of the trip. Have fun!

Here's a guy's perspective: Be a tease! Really get him worked up. If the weather's going to be cooler, wear one of your sexy outfits under an overcoat, without him knowing - then maybe a little reveal in the car. After dinner - flip him your panties. Be as revealing as you dare, plenty of looking but no touching until later. Maybe a dance club after dinner for drinks and some more teasing.

Into photography also, how about a digital photo-session in the hotel room? He'll want to get behind the lens also. Then stay in for two days and go through the toy bag.

Thanks for all the tips - thinking this getaway is gonna be a fun one. Ordering some new toys and dvds too. With the weather we probably won't go out too much beyond looking for a new boat and dinner. Just bought a sexy new outfit today too so I'm liking the overcoat idea

Thanks and umm...I dunno. We are complete opposites in everything but our love for one another and our family. Lots of patience, trust and respect. We have our issues but we get through them together. They say never go to bed fighting but I've learned that a good nights sleep will keep me from going off the deep end and lets me calm down to get a different prospective of the problem. A good vibrator is a must too
