Do you accept assignments to review products you normally wouldn't buy or use?

I was just given an assignment for something I would never buy or use (just not interested and also have no use for it). Do you accept assignments for things you wouldn't buy or use otherwise?

Sure, if it was just something I wouldn't buy. Things that are outside the realm of what I could use (I'm not going to accept a a prostate massager, for example, because I wouldn't get any use of it, since I lack a prostate) I won't accept, but anything else? Sure.

Because I've had toys that I wasn't really interested in wind up being my FAVORITE toys.

I'll try anything once and do my very best to review it with a fair and open mind.

i answered yes, because I have never declined an assignment. But now that I think of it, I should have voted no because i have never been offered somehting I couldn't find a use for or didn't have some interest in.

I would decline some things, but have not been offered them as of yet.

Does it count as a strike against you to decline an assignment? Or would you then be free to request something else?

Yes, because I like to try new things, so if I'm able to receive new and different things for free, then I figure it would be okay to try them out. I may not be interested at first, but I may end up liking the product in the end and then go back and buy similar items.

If it was something I could not use then I would decline it. Ya know, like a 2" diameter dildo, there is no way either one of us could use it right now. It might be fun trying it, but I could not give a thorough review on it.

Sure, as long as it matches my material preferences and is something I can use/test on my own without my partner's input (boundaries, you know). So, while I would love to get some free cock rings, prostate toys, and Tenga eggs for us to enjoy together, I can't request/accept those items as review products since I lack the required anatomy.

I would accept it because if it was for example a toy for a guy (cock ring, ect..)I would use it with my partner. He is very honest about everything, and so after you know trying it out I could write my review from his oppinion and thoughts on the toy. (I offten feel bad bc I have so many for my self and he doesn't even have one).

Not usually but when I have, I was pleasantly surprised. One was a toy that I would have passed over and it more then exceeded my expectations.
I have a tendency to pass on certain manufactures outright; unfair on my part but sometimes they change.
Overall, if the material and use meets my needs, why not? Guess I have changed as well.

I accept it if I can use it. I think I've declined one item and it was something that I knew we wouldn't have been able to use. I think it was a larger prostate massager and we really couldn't have used it.

If it is something that I can use then I accept. The only material I cannot use is jelly so if it's not jelly and it's not something so huge that it wouldn't fit in the orifice it's intended for then sure I'll give it a go.

I'll accept any assignment I could physically use, even if I normally wouldn't pick it out for myself. But I was offered a penis extender and had to reject the assignment because, well, that requires a penis and I couldn't use it.

So far, I've never been offered anything I wouldn't use. The application we fill out specifies what we can and can't or do and don't use, and I have found the stuff offered to be appropriate to my needs. I have used the Product List several times and gotten several assignments without asking and they were all things we found that fit our needs and I was able to write reviews on them after testing them.

There are things I wouldn't accept, as we don't use them. Harnesses and pegging stuff, mostly, because we don't Play that way, and it wouldn't get tested. I'd just refuse the assignment, that's allowed. Also, I have allergies and can't use anything with latex in it, so I couldn't accept that either.

In fact our new favorite toy was a spontaneous assignment the JoyDivision The Body vibrator. Oh.....my......it's quite a fun toy.

Some of my favorite products were assignments that I would've normally turned down but decided to accept; Asuka the love pillow (one of my fav. sleeves)is one example.

That being stated, you should never (EVERVEREVEREVEREVER) feel obligated to take an assignment. If you find you've been assigned a product you aren't comfortable with, just decline it; no harm no foul.

Unfortunately I have only received two random assignments I keep an open mind though, and open to trying all sorts of new things. Like others have mentioned, sometimes you get something that you would normally pass over, and it ends up being one of your favorite toys! You never know

I voted other - because like the others who answered I'm pretty open minded and might find something that I like.

But after two such assignments that I found so bland and uninteresting that it was hard to write the reviews for, I've decided not to accept any new assignments for products that I don't have an interest in.

I think they solved that problem by just not offering me any more to review!

I've always accepted assignments, mostly because I feel as though I could give it a fair shot. I've gotten at least one for a descriptive review that I wasn't terribly thrilled with, and I just got another descriptive assignment that doesn't look much better, but I enjoy the challenge of writing a detailed and thorough review for something I'm not OMG IN LOVE with, lol. So I guess yes, while I wouldn't normally have bought them, I will still accept. But if it was something that definitely wouldn't get used, like a large prostate massager, I'll definitely be saying no, lol

I did it was a anal starter, I'm not a huge fan of anal toys, though I love anal sex. But since it was a starter it wasn't that "fun" I guess.

I'm afraid that if I turn down an assignment, then they will stop offering them to me. I don't want to seem too picky! After all, many people have said they have found new favorites by being assigned something they might have overlooked and I would hate to lose out on administrative assignments.

I sometimes accept review assignments for things I wouldn't otherwise purchase. I wouldn't accept it if it's something we wouldn't use like an enema kit or something - it's something we'd normally use like a dildo but in a brand we normally wouldn't.

I don't accept review assignments on items I wouldn't normally use because I feel that it doesn't lead to a fully complete review. I have no basis of comparison and no knowledge about the toy type to draw on. Now I have tried out somethings I didn't think I was interested in, like prostate massagers, but I tend to allow the guys to give their imput and then try the toy on my own to see whether it is sort of unisex. I have accepted assignments of material types I wouldn't buy and I have learned a lot from the experience. In at least one case it did confirm that I have a problem with Jelly toys irritating my sensitive vaginal tissues. I have learned that it is not a problem every woman faces and I have female friends who are willing to try the products if I have a reaction to my "patch test". (I hold a suspect toy in the crook of my arm, if nothing happens I can be relatively certain it's ok to use.) I want to give the best information I can about every toy I test, which is why I'm careful to accept assignments I feel I can give 100% attention and testing to.

I have said no several times to assignments, as long as it's a genuine problem with the type of toy or material the Admins aren't going to publically, or privately, shun you! They want you to genuinely WANT a product or at least be excited to try it. Like it was told to me: keep an open mind and try new things but if you don't have a way to test a product then you can't give it a review that is useful! For instance, I haven't got a partner who is interested in pegging in the slightest...infact they are vehemently opposed to the idea! A harness review would be lacking comming from us.

Don't be afraid to say no thanks...it won't relegate you to persona non grata!

It really depends on the product. I declined once because I was currently reviewing, and the other one just didn't seem like a good idea to me. But I usually accept what I'm assigned because they are good matches for me.

It would depend; if it was something I wouldn't buy, I would probably still want to try it out. If it was something I had no use for whatsoever, then I wouldn't bother; why review something that you would never have used normally?

Occasionally I do although I do so less and less because I've found the reviews are hard to write because I just didn't like the product. I try to keep an open mind though.

I've accepted assignments I was skeptical about, and have sometimes had a rough time with them, but then sometimes I'm surprised by a toy I didn't think I'd like. Those usually make up for the not-so-great experiences. I decline toys that I think just won't work with/for my body. I also decline description review assignments if I don't think it's something I can be objective about. The frequency at which I am assigned products doesn't seem related to my accept/decline activity.

That's interesting because after accepting two I didn't care for - I turned one down and never got another assignment. I assume I'm on someone's s___-list.

That's part of it too. It's like trying on clothes you don't normal think are your style and then you end up loving them! Don't knock it til you try it
