The Contiuing Saga of trying to join the Video Age

I really hate Windows Movie Maker. But that is the only option I have right now. Aren't tripods great?

Now I feel inspired to do my own video! Great job, P'Gell! The video was great!

I wonder which of my toys I can upload a video for... Would it be possible to back track and upload a video of a toy that I've already reviewed or should it be for a new-ish one I have? Any opinions or anyone who knows what the general rules are on that?

Video Review Guidelines can be found here

Please, folks, read them through. Almost all questions are answered within them.

Jen, you can add video to any review, old or new, so long as you run it by me first to make sure someone else isn't already doing that product and that it doesn't already have a video on it. Also, be sure to get the intro file from me.

My email is in the guidelines. (See how I sneakily am making folks read them?)

I swear I read it! I did! I just wasn't sure if back-tracking was discouraged or a-ok.

Thank you for so much patience with us though. I'll send you an email soon!

Thank you! And thank you, Jenn.

Yeah, guys, please read the Guidelines and contact Carrie Ann. From what I know, it's OK to do a video from a toy you already reviewed, but it has to be something no one has done a full video about before AND you get the OK from Carrie Ann, plus some other stuff that is in the Guidelines. Please read the guidelines, then contact Carrie Ann. She's really helpful.

Well my first video ever is posted. I'm pretty excited about having done one but it's NO where near as great as yours P'Gell. I think I'm going to do the headless thing for my next one. Especially since it's a much more quality toy.

Jen, your video was great! The seahorse was adorable. I just love bullets for a little "me time." Good work.

I need to ask a question, as I am really new to this. (You guys have been GREAT in helping me out, and I'm sure a lot of other people are benefiting from my endless questions.

I HAVE TO get "The Imperial March" from Star Wars for my next video. (That's all I'm going to say.) I got it from iTunes, then burned it onto a disc THEN uploaded it again and I STILL can't use it in Movie Maker. I spent SIX HOURS today trying to do it. (Yeah, I'm compulsive and stubborn.) It won't import into Movie Maker. (Microsoft and Apple mix like Oil and Water.)

My 10 year old even changed it to a WAV file and did all kinds of stuff to make it import to Movie Maker. And finally she said, "Mom, I have to do my homework. Why don't you just do it tomorrow. Get a fresh look at it and try again." Then she sighed and left the room.

NO!

Ate dinner, banged the old man, and now I'm back. Is there ANY way, other than what I've tried to get an iTunes song onto Movie Maker?

I must do this, must, must, must.........

TIA!

I would give advice if I had any but I never add sound to my vids so... no idea!

First, you crack me up!

Second, my only thought is that anything downloaded from iTunes (or Zune Marketplace, which is what I used to use) has a copyright protection encrypted into it. I've done the same thing trying to trick the system. I've burned the song onto CD and re-upload it onto a separate computer, changed the file type, and tried to use it in a video and it still didn't work. It aggravated me for days to the point of cursing all technology, which is totally not like me (I have gadget addiction).

So my only guess is to use a file that wasn't downloaded and instead came directly off a CD. I, in fact, have a Star Wars soundtrack CD on my external hard-drive (the ex...) if you wanted me to email it to you to try. Just send me a message with your email address if you'd like to give that a shot.

And thank you for the positive reinforcement! I spent HOURS filming, then re-filming, then fixing the lighting, then re-re-filming... I'm so not satisfied with that video so I want the next to be much better.

Thanks anyway.

I did it the low tech way, sort of. It sounded as good as if I added it during the editing process.

I e-mailed you cuz you said it was OK to upload this guy. I had a LOT of fun making it. Except for the part where I kept running out of memory on my card, and then I kept forgetting what I was saying. But, I persevered! It's on EdenTube now. (It's for The Body.

Now, to think of the next one.

Thank you all for your help and your support. I'm not a Cyer Age baby, and I'm learning as I go along.

Thanks for the offer, Jen. What I did was to simply hook my iPod up to a player with speakers, and just do the beginning of the video with the volume turned all the way up, and that way I could also see what I was doing to the music in real time.

Keep doing those videos! It's fun. I get all nervous when I have to film myself. I am NOT afraid of public speaking, just that I'm going to mess something up. I must have filmed this last one The Body about 5 or more times, running out of memory. Suddenly stopping and saying, "Uhhhhhhhhhh...." swearing because I screwed up. Trying to stay on subject and not go off on a tangent is difficult for me, so I left off more than I wanted to, but it turned out better than if I had included everything.

Carrie Ann said something about a blooper reel. That would be funny, if we could do it. But, due to lack of memory on my camera, I just erased all my mistakes. Too bad real life isn't as easy.

Oh my god a blooper reel would be the funniest thing ever. I had to refilm PLENTY of times too. And some of them were actually hilarious (like the vibrator turning on in the box and me cursing it). I might consider making a blooper reel sometime anyway.

I'm so proud of my second video I just finished and uploaded today. But it won't be live until the product page is available. So now I shall fidget and pace and do the potty dance while I wait!

LOL...if only I'd kept all the video clips with me speaking all professionally, screwing up a word, yelling 'dammit, tori!' and dropping the toy to reach for the camera. There were easily 12 of them in a row on one of my reviews!

I have a LOT of video of me rolling my eyes, turning away from the camera, exhaling a HUGE sigh and saying "FUCKKKKKKKKKKK".

Lol yeah... I will be in the middle of an excellent video review and then look at the computer and decide I don't like the way it looks... or I will do one that I think is really excellent and then I play it back and you can barely hear me... :| I am getting better though I did the serenity in one shot!

I second (or third) a blooper reel! There should be a spot just to upload bloopers

I say we do it! After all, there is a "blooper" tag on the video tag options when uploading a video!

Well, my second video is live, even though the review it's attached to isn't yet. I can't wait for this product to be available for viewing here on EF! It was amazing getting to be one of the first people to review it!

Bloopers is a category for videos. You can already upload blooper videos. Just choose that category. There's a blooper video from Tantus there now.

My bloopers are far more boring than for you guys. I do things like say the wrong product name without realizing it or I have a brain lapse and just stop talking.
