how graphic?

So, how much detail would be too much for a review? I know we can say some things, but what kind of stuff would be too much, really? I've some very calm reviews, but then I've seen some that are VERY risque. So? what is the line?

Well, I've read some pretty raunchy reviews before, I honestly did not enjoy them really. It was over the top, and this isn't an xxx rated porn site after all haha. For instance, this product Fuck Me Silly to me is too far over the line, its very degrading and much more. (The product description that is, you may have to scroll down the page)

I think the key to reviews, is honesty. Don't put something in a review you don't feel should be there. I try to use more proper names rather than raunchy or dirties names. Rather than Cock Ring, i'll say Penis Ring. I hope the next few lines are not "over the line" but for example --- " I rammed this fuck plug so hard up my ass hole " I personally wouldn't want to read it quite like that in a review.

I'm not sure on specifics on what is over the line, i'm more speculating on a personal level. But when I write my reviews, I try to be professional with them while giving lots of detail, being honest and not turning it into xxx rated stuff

That's going to depend on who you ask. Some people enjoy the ones that read like porn scripts and others don't. I don't care what names people give to parts or acts in a review as long as they don't overdo it, but I skip ones that are like what Cookie Monster Mike gave the link for. To me reviews like that are crude and uncalled for.

Wow, that is the most misogynistic product description I've ever read. Why is it allowed to stay on Eden?

I did find this amusing, though: "This mega masturbator is the most realistic piece of ass you ever fucked" because if a masturbator is the most realistic piece of ass this person has ever fucked, it's clear he doesn't get out often... (edit: It's also sad though, because it's got misandry at it's core.)

Yeah that was the best example I could give, I couldn't remember any reviews of the top of my head to link. A lot of people have an issue with the description of that product though. While I personally don't agree with it, it doesn't bother me to the point where I want to go petition it be removed, or edited etc. It was a good over the line example in my eyes. But we all have the option to skip over those products, and reviews that are crude etc.

I try to give details where they are relevant, but I never go into porn lingo. I think it is important to talk about your experience in a way that people will get the idea of how it works, but not make it a Penthouse Letters type of thing. I guess it's up to the individual and what they feel comfortable with. The X-rated one's don't bother me, but I honestly don't give them as much credibility in my opinion as I would one that deals with facts, experiences and a little levity.

There's a difference between a sex review, and a tacky, over-the-top review that no one even cares to read because it's not done right, it's not erotic, and it's just someone trying to tick off every possible way they can describe sex.

Cookie Monster Mike says it best - you're doing a review, you aren't writing porn. I tend to use proper terminology, for the most part. Occasionally I'll say "ass" or "boobies" or something, just so that it's not "anus" 17 times in a paragraph, but..I guess, common sense, really. Would you feel comfortable reading your review if you were SHOPPING, and not trying to jerk off?

That description is just horrible.

I don't mind a few "fucks" or "pussy's" in reviews. Sometimes these just get ridiculous though.

I agree. I don't like for a review to sound like an erotic story - I just can't take those seriously. I try to watch my terminology in reviews, and leave out curse words or vulgar terms for body parts. While I do reference my personal experience with the item, I try to do so in a clinical manner without sounding crude.

It is just personal preference, but I prefer reviews to sound professional. It's a description of a toy, not erotica - if someone wants to write erotica, they can do so for Eden Cafe, rather than including it in their review.

i dnt want to to hear every single thing tht went on, but i thinkn we all know where the line stops. describe in a to the point manner what the toy can do so the reader can get an idea...what the toy can do for them

yeah, I get the point there. I do say cock, but i also say penis. I like to change the words around, to keep it from getting boring as people read through it. I do it with everything though, even the product it self, I will say the toy, sex toy, the item name, the type, etc.

lol, I do include a few more raunchy terms, but I tend to include the technical ones as well. The review is intense though!
