Hey there! I was just finishing up my review on the Key Nyx and I ran into a problem. The Io was a super low 3 vrooms and a solid 2 bees, and the Nyx is a super high 3 vrooms/almost 4 vrooms, and 1.5 on the bee scale. They're super different, and the Nyx is much stronger than the Io so I want to give it a higher raiting... But it's not a solid 4 vrooms on its own.

When you end up in a situation like this, what do you lean towards?

I hate it when that happens!

I will sometimes go ahead and give it 4 vrooms, while explaining the rating in the review - because I feel like I should differentiate it from the other, lower 3 vroom toys. I'm not sure if it's the best way to do it, but it's what I've done before.

I would rate it as 3 vrooms, but make note of it in your review. A lot of people find 3 vrooms to not be enough and calling it 4 might end up disappointing someone who needs more power than that.

I do three, but then clarify in the Functions section that it's a high three/almost four. That way the rating reflects the actual vroom level, but that the info on it being high is there.

Also, SO upset these aren't stronger.

I would rather see an accurate rating with an explanation in the review. I find too many reviews over rate the vrooms already. Finding those reviewers who accurately rate the power is important to me. You don't want to undermine your credibility.

I'd rate it three, because 4 is the cutoff for many people to buy a toy and wouldn't want them to be disappointed by my 'almost' rating

I agree. Had not thought of it that way, but you make an excellent point. I would rather undersell than oversell, if I do make a mistake and misrepresent in one way or another.

I would bump it down to a 3. Better to under-report the intensity and leave a buyer pleasantly surprised than to call it a 4 and leave him or her disappointed. You could always clarify your rating with a clear description of the Vrooom you think it deserves.

This is usually what I do as well. I always try to explain it in the review. One of my recent reviews I gave a 4 out of 5 vroom level but I explained in the review that it's probably around a 3.75 lol.
