Opinion on Video Reviews

Contributor: NarcissisticLust NarcissisticLust
I really appreciate members who post video reviews. Not only does the viewer have the opportunity to see the size and function of a toy, but also a more personal description of the toy than words might provide. However, I am extremely bothered by videos completely unrelated to review topics and primarily consist of "cam-girl" material. While I appreciate the confidence in one's body to film it for viewers, I am watching a video review to learn about a potential purchase, not to watch a person roll around naked.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

Thank you very much for your input,

NarcissisticLust

I agree completely, I want to hear about the toy, a cute person is a plus, but only if they stay on topic and have meaningful information to share.

This topic has already been discussed multiple times. There are two video review categories allowed on EF. You have your standard which goes over features of the product, and than you have adult videos that demonstrate the product in use in erotic but tasteful videos. These adult videos are condoned and encouraged by EF. They are typically preceded by the "adult content warning" to distinguish them from standard video reviews. They do not appeal to everyone and have the warning so that people can avoid them.

To play devil's advocate, the videos you're talking about are adult videos, they are related to the product because they feature it, and are supposed to be more of an advertisement than an actual review. Also, they're supposed to have a nudity banner that warns you that it's probably not an actual review and is going to have nudity in it.

Maybe I just don't see what the big deal is, but to me, not wanting to see something like that is as simple as seeing the nudity banner and not watching it.

Edit: I never refresh early enough. Kindred said it better than I could, but I still leave my comment to be read.

Thanks for clearing that up Kindred and Sam. I assumed "adult content" meant nudity, not advertisement style videos. Not all adult content reviews I've seen here have been advertisement themed which is why I thought some reviewers just preferred the cam-girl style videos. I don't have a problem with nudity, I just assumed the purpose of the videos was to review products. Thanks for the update. Sorry this had already been discussed, I was not trying to flood the forums with repeat conversations.

I didn't know it was supposed to be an advertisement either... How interesting... I don't watch them though, they aren't really my sort of thing.

Try to remember we have all sorts of types of customers and, for some, a sexy video clip is far more inspiring than a review of any type.

Video guidelines, which explain what adult videos are and what we desire in them, can be found here

I will only watch them for products without a different video review to see a better size estimate than photos can offer. Not all of the adult content videos I've seen here have been advertisements, so I never understood the purpose of the other ones.
