What do you refer to your product as?

Contributor: cherryredhead88 cherryredhead88
When doing a review, I find it difficult to refer to the product as it, or him, or her. I usually bounce back and forth. I feel like if I just use one term the whole time it gets repetitive. I also don't like saying "This toy" or the name of the toy over and over again. What do you all do ?

Occasionally I gender my toys, but more often I refer to a toy as "it." I use the name of the toy and the product type ("this dildo" / "the lotion") but often I find myself talking about more specific parts of the toy, so I don't feel like it gets repetitive. I'll mention the surface, base, shaft, controls, head, tip, opening, etc. to have a bit more word variety and specificity.

I will use the proper name of the toy, the words the toy, the vibe (dildo, oil ect) and him/her, he/she I try to mix it up to keep it interesting.

I usually say the name of the toy, sometimes if it was really good or if it has a name that works well with being called "He" then I use that instead. I might also use the words toy or vibe. It depends.

It depends - if the toy has a "gender" (a penis or a vagina) then I might use he or she. If it doesn't not, I would use "it", the name of the toy, or the type of the product (e.g., masturbator, cock ring, lube, etc.)

I use "it", "this toy", or the name of the toy, and that's pretty much all I use.

I occasionally assign gender to my toys. Ina and Sasi are "female" to me... but I can't think of any of my "male" toys at the moment.

I use gendered pronouns for a toy if it feels gendered to me. For example, all the ceramic beauties from Lovemoiselle are female to me. I haven't owned many toys that seem male to me, but the closest I got was with the Mantoy. I mean... come on, it has "Man" in its name! Most of my toys are feminine

I most times use "it" "this vibe" and the name of the toy throughout my reviews. Sometimes I will do "he" or "she" only if I normally think of the toy in that way...even I'm not really sure why some of my toys I think of as gendered...

I go back and forth between the name of the toy, "the product" or "this product" or "the garment" to "the toy" "this toy" the word "it" if it is appropriate. I might use gender, but not often. (although all dildos and phallic vibes appear male to me.) I occasionally use the term "the unit" and I always laugh when I do it.

I normally shorten the name part of the time and use the full name other times. It seems to work for me.

Well I usually use the name of the toy and then shorten it, and then sometimes I will put him/her/it.

it, or the toys name. Unless it's a penis. Then I say him.

I use the name, "this piece (item, product, whatever)," or it.
