Mentors: Advanced Students Okay?

Contributor: Missy27 Missy27
Current Mentors are you willing to take students who are already considered advanced reviewers? I had a wonderful mentor recently and loved getting her feedback, it made me think that it would be nice to get a different mentors input based on their style. I know there is no or little incentive to take a student deemed advance reviewer so I was just wondering.

Would you as a mentor take a student that is already an advance reviewer or stick to only newer reviewers?

Most of us are, yes. In fact, my students who were already Advanced Reviewers have been some of my most rewarding experiences as a Mentor!

I have and will continue to mentor any advanced reviewer that feels they need to brush up on anything. It's not just about getting rewarded through points, it's awesome to be able to help someone and watch them turn into amazing reviewers; beginners and advanced users alike!

Definitely!! I love helping others, adding a new perspective or helping another member with review types they are not comfortable with...I have also helped people off site with their reviews when they wanted an opinion or advice prior to submitting them. I appreciate the points and gift cards for the new students, but find that the Advanced Reviewers are easier to work with since they already know the system.

That's so reassuring to hear that mentors like working with advanced reviewers. Looking forward to a new perceptive and style.

I do! I like working with them and for the most part it's a matter of fine tuning. They are usually very committed to improvement, which is not always the case with new folks. It's nice to have both classes going at the same time, so if you feel frustrated with a student who doesn't seem committed, you can hop over to one of your Advanced students and remember that there are people who love being here and want to do their best!
