Why Can Only Certain Products be Liked?

Contributor: ~LaUr3n~ ~LaUr3n~
Is this a glitch? My computer? My browser? Or is this on purpose?

Has anyone else noticed that only some products can be liked on facebook? I want to be able to like and hence share my favorite products on facebook, but am finding that most do not have a button for this.

I don't have an answer, but I'm bumping this because I've noticed and wondered as well. Anyone?

It looks like products with the new product page layout have the option and those on the older product page layout do not. I'm not sure if all products will eventually have the same layouts.

I haven't come across this yet.

I haven't noticed that yet but I will keep a look out. I would be more inclined to like things such as a nice baby doll top v.s. a dildo on face book.

I'm pretty sure some realistic toys cannot be "Liked" due to Facebook guidelines.

I have always wondered why some pages don't have the "Like" button! Well, that makes some sense, I suppose, about the FB guidelines.

But, I asked my friend why some lingerie didn't have a "Like" button and she said for her it did. So, we compared several items & I thought it was something about my account that had them turned off, or something. I tried different browsers, too. Not that this is the biggest deal ever, but thought I might as well at least mention it now that I found this thread. Maybe there is a glitch, who knows, but I did have the problem with just regular lingerie, mostly new stuff, so, I thought it would just take time for the button to appear. I go back & check once in a while and some do later have the "Like" button.

Like I said, I'm not losing sleep over it, but would be interested knowing if others had similar problems, because it's hard to know if something is because of a problem on my end, e.g., my settings, browser, or whatever.

Here are some pages that, for me, have no "Like" buttons:
Sweet Dreams Bra Set
Midnight Frost Set
Secret Desire Set
Ethereal Fantasy Set

Interesting. I don't have it either. And your friend does have the Like button on the pages you mention?

Really weird! When I had a Facebook account just for EF purposes so that my irl friends wouldn't know my business (it was repeatedly shut down by Facebook until I gave up), every product had a "like" button, but often I would go back to my Facebook page to see that my "like" of the product was removed! This seemed to happen on products that were obviously sexual - realistic or semi-realistic dildos, pocket pussies and sleeves, that sort of thing. When I went back to the product's product page, the like button would still be there, and would indicate I had not yet "liked" the product. I could attempt to like it again, but it would give me an error message.

This makes me think it's something on EF's side. The lingerie you linked to doesn't have a "like" button for me either, but doesn't match the profile of items Facebook doesn't want you advertising on their site.

When I asked her about most of the pages I listed, she said she had the buttons, BUT this was when they were first in stock AND she might have been blowing me off a little, say just checking one and not the others? Sorry, I don't have more info on whether she really had them, but I do believe she had at least one that I didn't when we talked. She was genuinely surprised because she never came across a missing button before. I have this same missing button thing for toys, too. I just remembered the above examples specifically because they were more recent & I finally asked someone to see if it was just me.

Oh, btw, I checked again, just to be sure, but I don't have the "Like" button for those pages in Chrome, IE, or Opera, if that helps? I will see about finding some toy pages without the button for me and post them when I find them - just trying to help.

Yeah, I only have a FB account for Eden related stuff and some shopping like jewelry, (I don't have any other accounts there, never have). I didn't know some items I "Like" don't remain; I like so many things that I may not be aware some are disappearing! I am going to go check right now and see what's up.

EDIT: Seems many things I have liked have been removed, *sigh*. I am not just talking realistic stuff, either. But, I will keep better watch going forward. I am not the best about knowing things about FB, I am new & not too invested in it to begin with. I just wanted a way to stay in touch with Eden people and to join giveaways, etc.
