Anyone Experiencing Recent Rank Fluctuations?

In one week, my rank has gone from 7.6 to 6.5 and seems to continue to fall 0.1 every day now, whether I edit, comment on the forums and reviews, or not. Edeneve had hers fall as well while those who have not been on the site in months or more, have not lost rank, but others have. Anyone else notice their rank fluctuating all over the place?

I was 7.1 before the rank started jumping up to 7.6, so when it went back down to 7.1, I figured that's not so bad, but it has fallen below that. It took me a year to get from 3.8 to 7.1 despite the 3354 forum posts I've made, the 309 discussions I started, the 19 reviews I've posted, the more than 1000 reviews I've commented and voted on and the 542 reviews I've edited in that time (almost all my edits have received 'Excellent' ratings).

What the hell happened??? You were at 6.8 yesterday!!! I CANNOT believe this is happening to you - you've been working long and hard editing reviews - you DO NOT deserve this!

My rank has been fluctuating just a bit...knock on wood!

Reviews weight much more heavily into ranking than other things, as the rank was designed as a ranking of top reviewers, not community members. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bulk of your reviews (not follow-ups) are coming up on their one year anniversary....that would explain the drop. I believe that reviews in the last 12 months are what are counted toward that number, and follow-ups hold less weight than full reviews.

You are an extremely active and valued member of the community, regardless of the number on your profile!

As far as I know, mine hasn't fluctuated at all, unless it's gone up. However, the majority of my ranking comes from my reviews.

Wicked Wahine, you are definitely highly valued by the community, if not the ranking system! I had also noticed my rank drop because many of my reviews were older as well. Only the past 360 days of activity is considered in Activity Factor. You're just going to have to have more fun so you can write some reviews instead of fixing them!

However with the amount of work you put in here, I feel that you absolutely deserve a higher rank.

Thanks everyone, yes, that makes sense. And I appreciate the support because I guess I'm feeling burned out on editing and then seeing that happen, especially after going up to 7.6, really ticked me off.

Our rank has gone down suddenly over a period of a 3 wks. A few pts though we have turned in reviews these last few months. 3 in the last 4 months.

I still participate in the forum, read and rate reviews also. Now I wonder if doing a review and then since there are few members rating currently it affects one's rating.

We have 2 more reviews coming out soon. We'll publish one this month and the other next month and see if it affects our rating.

Well, it's only a rating and not that important. Unlike a poor seeding in a tournament.
