Who do you rank?

Contributor: Rayne Millaray Rayne Millaray
I've been hearing some interesting rumors that sort of... disappoint me, if I'm to be honest. So I figured I'd ask and see how true they are. So who do you rate?

Other?

I read and rate products that I am interested in.
Sometimes they are from people that rate me, sometimes not. 'Who' does not matter much unless I know they do not put info in that I am looking for. Sure there may be a coincidence that they are the same contributors but there are only so many people that review Prostate toys just as an example.

I agree with Dwtim.

I don't pay a lot of attention to who exactly rates me. I tend to read the reviews of products that interest me. I do also read the reviews of my friends in particular, but I don't choose to read reviews solely on who writes them. I try to rate every review I read, and comment on lots of them too.

I'm other...I read the products I am interested in or I already have an opinion on and then will sometimes comment and sometimes vote. I rather not vote negatively as retaliation on my reviews may be the response.

I read nearly every review. It's part of the job, yanno? I try to rate every review I read. Occasionally, though, I'll skip rating if it's a review that every9one else seems to think is fabulous but makes me cringe. I don't want to be the lone dissenting vote and, usually, it's not the content but the style that bothers me so better to just not vote.

I skip voting sometimes too, unless the review is past the time for revision. If I read a review that isn't quite useful, I'll not vote on it. I hope the reviewer will take the suggestions from the comments and revise their review accordingly.

I read the reviews for products that look interesting. Who wrote them doesn't factor into whether I read a review or not. I don't always vote though.

I subscribed to the RSS feed of reviews from Edenfantasys. I got some backlog of a few days, but I do try to read everyone of them and rate them. But when I'm not going through my feed list of reviews, I'll pick reviews to vote from the people I know directly from the site.

I rate reviews of the product types in which I know how to judge, with certainty, how useful the review is.

For example, I've never been interested in lingerie, so I don't rate reviews of lingerie pieces because I cannot accurately judge how useful they might be.

However, I'm extremely familiar with dildos and vibrators, so I'll rate them.

I read reviews for products I am interested in, so that I can get new and important information about my potential purchases. I also rate most of the reviews that I read.

I rate everything I read, and I read just about everything. I randomly browse forums some nights and click on people to see their reviews. Especially if their posts are interesting

Yeah, agreed. I don't worry about the who much. Sometimes I'll read things that I won't rate... for example, I tend not to rate things that I'm not really into because I have no real way of knowing if the review contains all the right info. n00b

I try to rate every review I read, but Often I have a lot of tabs open that I read offline so I can't vote on those ones.

I didn't know there was a way to know who had voted on mine, but had noticed some reviews that I felt were not even useful had been voted extremely useful by others.

The mentor program has been great for me as a brand new reviewer and often I'll comment to share my love of it with other new reviewers. I've sensed a feeling that people would rather not vote or comment than leave a low vote or critical response, which I can understand if it's a persons first few reviews, but wonder if it kind of throws things out of whack in the long run.

I tend to look at reviews of products I'm interested in, as well as new reviews and those of people who just friended me. I don't give friends preferential treatment, though. I vote on every review I read, unless I don't finish it.

So I voted that I try to read all reviews. But I didn't vote for what I rate. Because honestly, I rate *most* of them but sometimes I just don't. If I'm really hung up between two levels, or if it bored me, or such. Now granted, I rate like 95% of the reviews I read, but still....

I read and rate reviews regardless of who wrote them. I like reading the reviews good or bad and generally will leave a comment as well.

I don't read nearly as many reviews as I probably should or want to, but it's just a matter of time. Every time I do read a review I make sure to give it a rating and try and leave a comment as well. I know I'm always happily surprised when I get a comment and feedback from someone on the site.

I read reviews for products I'm interested in or look neat. I rarely look at the username attached. I attempt to rate every review I read, but if it has 10 Extremely Usefuls, and I think it was just Somewhat Useful, I probably won't rate it. I try to rate things how I feel though - even if I'm the lonely dissenter.

I rate new reviews when I visit the site, and I usually try to leave a comment if I rate. I also rate reviews on toys I'm considering buying, when I read the review to get more info.

Same here. I read as many as I can, either new ones or products I'm interested in, and don't pay attention to who wrote it. I'll only skip rating it if I feel it deserves a very low rating and I'm the only one who thinks so. I'd feel like a jerk.

I'm an other, too.

I don't read all the reviews, but I browse them and read them especially thoroughly when I'm interested in a product.

I rate them when I remember to.
I usually forget.

I try to make a point of reading as many reviews as possible. I do try to read the reviews of people applying for Advanced Reviewer, as I like to know how they write before I will give them a vote for Reviewer. I also try to offer suggestions for better reviews, if the reviews of new reviewers asking for Advanced are lacking.

I always get excited if I see a new reviewer and his or her reviews are really good. It's a really good thing to see and read.

I like to read new reviews. I also search out reviews on products I'm interested in. I don't search out people I follow and ONLY read their reviews.
