Do you feel obligated to review all items you own that are on EF?

It's a time thing. I currently have a lot of time, so I've written up reviews for a bunch of the toys on here that I have. Now, though, I think I have a queue of about 4 or 5 reviews waiting to be edited! I imagine it'll be more evenly distributed between toys I have and new toys I get once I'm an advanced reviewer.

There are some toys I have bought that I'm just not interested in reviewing. I have more than enough toys to review. I don't feel ALL of them are necessary. But I'll certainly do a review on toys I love - eventually.

I do not feel obligated to write a review ever(unless it is an assignment), but if there aren't already 8-12+ reviews on a product I will generally write a review over it. Sometimes when there are a lot of reviews on a product, and I just really love the product, I will write a review on it.

I don't really feel obligated to, but I always seem to end up reviewing something I got as a non-review item when I'm planning to put in an order and need some extra points!

I don't feel obligated, but I do try to review everything I own. I am a little behind though.

I tend to get really busy. I've reviewed most things I have except for a few cock rings. Usually, I don't have problems with words but I'm at a loss to say much about plain nondescript cock rings. Maybe I'll write something about them in the future.

This question came up because I realized that I had never asked anyone about the expectations of the community.

I have a spreadsheet that currently has I think 12-16 non-assignment items. I will be reviewing some items for sure, but others...I'm not so sure about.

Yes it is a time thing, but I love contributing to this website and I want to share with the community.

I think that depends really. If it's an item that has been reviewed a million times and you have nothing new to add then maybe not. But otherwise review away.

It depends on a number of things. Spare time, whether my review would be noticeably different, etc. Often I'll put the reviews of things I've purchased on my blog rather than on EF, I guess I think that if they give me the product it should go on the EF site to prevent a dead-link review (and it can get irritating to have to click through to a review and then go back).

It sounds odd, but the little pink disclaimer at the bottom of the non-assigned reviews kind of makes me not as eager to do them. It just seems to mark them as second class reviews or something.

I have some toys from EF that I have not reviewed simply bcs time gets in the way and I prioritize assignments.

There are a few I have been meaning to review... just a matter of having the time. I feel bad, though.. that must count for something

I don't see why anyone wouldn't review something they own on EF (not including people who already do a ton of reviews and are behind on assignments). I try to review all the products I get with points because I feel it's a good way to give back to Eden and it's also a great way to build up more points.

I try to eventually get around to reviewing most of what I own - not out of obligation, but I do like participating in the community, talking to folks via comments on reviews and such. Plus, I just kind of like reviewing. I don't feel the LELO Ella needs another review so no, I won't review EVERYTHING (besides, I freaking hate that thing and couldn't find a way to be objective about it if I wanted to!)

There are also a few toys that just don't inspire me much - I have two beginner plugs, the Silk Small and the Happy Valley Pleasure #2 and I just can't imagine what I'd write on them. They're great, non-porous, good for beginners. That sums it up; there's not much else I have to say! They're not massively stimulating or anything, they just help you warm up. Things like that I try not to force myself to review.

If something has a lot of reviews I'm less inclined to worry about that item. There's so many more that need reviewing. I also don't think it's necessary to review everything you buy on EF. I've bought Hubby items like cock rings and I'm not going to review them cuz I don't wear em. There's a few others that I simply found blah and if they already have several similar reviews then it's not necessary to say the same thing over again. I have products that we use as a couple that I won't review because it goes beyond what I'm willing to share too.

I enjoy writing the reviews but I'm not pressed to write on everything I own. There's about 6 or 7 that I want to write up but haven't done it yet. I don't really think quantity is as necessary as quality and I try to write up good reviews so I just let myself enjoy them and not rush. Assignments I like to get done timely but again not rushed. Gotta spend time and energy with the product to truly review it.

Gotta say I'm surprised by the tone of the choices in the poll. I don't understand the blame and selfishness comments because that's just silly. People come to EF for information yes but they also want realism and honesty. That takes time and if sacrificing writing an extra review due to our actual busy lives then so be it. Doesn't make us selfish. It makes us human. Perhaps I would feel differently if Eden was my 9 to 5 job but it isn't. Course, that would be pretty damn cool.

Lots of things that I own that are on EF are things that I haven't used in months, like my Liberators.

I signed up for EF and started reviewing while my Owner was out of town and I am hopeful that I can break out some of those toys when he returns.

So I can review them--that's the only reason I want to break them out again--riiiiiight.

I don't feel obligated because I love writing as many reviews as I can for the things that I like!

It's a great hobby, and I am trying to reach my goal of 100 reviews before my first year here is up. I have like 40 to go in 2 months! AAACK! Good thing I have like 6 or 7 coming up soon and 3 I'm working on now! I don't know if I will hit my goal in time, but it won't be long!

I haven't reviewed all my toys as I get too busy and involved. I do make an effort to review a toy that I particularly enjoy esp if there are few reviews.
I try to share good experiences, esp since there are now so many products out there.

I don't have much of a collection yet, so I do plan on reviewing what I own on here. I might feel differently when I get a bit more.

I think a review is always for better even if there are a lot of reviews on a product.

Many reviews on an item tells you that probably a lot of people bought it. So it can give an idea for the potential buyer about the product success.

Something I do not see on reviews are comparisons for noise and vibration levels. I think it is the most useful for customers to know what the reviewer reference is to rate the reviewed product.
I tend to search over the reviewed product from the user to see what is noisy or stronger for him.

For example I really like Tuesday reviews, she always compare the reviewed product with other similar toys she has tested.

I write reviews when I'm in the mood. If I force myself they just end up being badly done, and not being helpful to anyone. If I'm suddenly in the mood to write a review and I'm not on an assignment I'll write one up for something I already own, but I'm not sitting around keeping track of what I still have to do reviews for out of the things I've bought.

We have a few things that we are still playing with and learning how to use best that we have not yet done a review on. Also, there are so many reviews on things like the Hitachi that we think its a little useless.

Well, I don't think it's just wrong if you don't get every single review written for items that WERE NOT assignments. I mean it takes a lot of time and some have very busy lives, children, jobs, etc. so we don't always get every toy we've purchased reviewed. I plan to get the ones I've purchased the past couple of years reviewed, but it's hard to find time. I put my assignments first and then try to work in the others. I'm a full time student, I work, I have 4 children to care for and I don't always have extra time on my hands so I don't think it's anything to call selfish. It'd be selfish if I put the reviews before the kids. I bought the toys myself so I don't think it's terrible if I don't review them immediately.

I'm thinking about reviewing all of them, but some are items that I don't even own any longer, so I couldn't do any detailed reviews.
