EdenTasks Etiquette

My question is: Can we treat the reviewer as if they were a student? The rules and guidelines talk about making comments and suggestions, but I also understand that an editor's job is simply to edit.

The suggestions I want to make to this person include adding more details about materials and experience with the toy.

Unfortunately your job is just to edit the review. You can comment on the review or even send them a message after it's published politely critiquing and suggesting the mentor program or other things they could add in the future, but unless this person actually is your student, all you can do is publish the review.

Right now we're accepting applications for task editors, but not necessarily taking new ones on. But don't worry, we still have your application on file!

Awesome, I've been wondering the same thing. I've wanted to be more involved but the positions got snatched up so fast!

There are some of us with higher ranks who've been here a while who got declined too. Don't take it personally!

I'd love to become an editor, but I know I've only been here a little while and I've only done 5 reviews. I can't wait to do more reviews, because then I can edit them. :] I'm an English nerd and I love editing. <3

I was denied twice myself before finally getting in, I have been trying since it first started. I would say wait a month or so in between apps

Sam- That sucks. It is hard to do for me because my instinct is to critique first... lol. I will work on that but at least now I know! Thanks

Also, would it be a good idea to do them in the order they are in?

I know it sucks, it's my first instinct too, lol. It's generally a good idea to do them in the order they're in. Doing it that way prevents reviews from a week or more ago from not getting published because people were going for newer ones for whatever reason.

I was denied when I first applied, too. Be patient; the proofreading program is still relatively new and they're rolling it out slowly and carefully, as there have been a some quirks in the system which they've had to address.

The best thing to do is to write more reviews, work on your writing, and be patient. If they haven't gotten back to you in a few months, perhaps submit an application again.

I was rejected at first, but in the subsequent months I wrote a dozen more reviews, made sure to increase the quality of my writing in those reviews, and worked hard to improve my rank. I applied again and eventually I was accepted.
