Has anyone ever been denied an upgrade request?

Contributor: Allison.Wilder Allison.Wilder
I'm just curious as I'm reading through this thread, are there people that ever get denied? I'm not asking for names or anything, but does everyone pretty much get voted in at some point?

(I never had to do this because I went through the mentor program instead so I just don't know a lot about this.)

Thanks if you can answer my question!

In all of my time here, I have NEVER seen anyone get denied. It's really unfortunate how impossible it is. I saw someone get voted in who only had two reviews (from years ago and they were applying recently) and one of them wasn't even about the product they were reviewing! They were all, "Oh, well, it looks similar and blah blah blah" but they were entirely different toys. They didn't even take the same kind of batteries. It was ridiculous that they got voted in but that just goes to show that a lot of people don't even seem to pay attention when they're voting. They probably just vote to vote, which is dumb, because you don't even get points for it or anything. I've stopped voting because I realized my vote means nothing and the person will get in whether or not I vote at all.

I've never seen anyone get denied personally. Usually most people seem to get voted in really quickly. That's why you'll see threads about revamping the process cropping up from time to time - but Eden seems to be ok with the status quo for the time being.

Hope this helps!

While I was voted into advanced reviewer status, I do think that the process is too easy. This week, I saw someone upgraded to advanced reviewer status who had multiple grammar errors in the upgrade request.

Personally, I think it is way too easy to collect a mere five votes. I think it should require 15-20 votes within a specific period of time. Three days would be plenty. The site has more than enough traffic to allow for that many voters.

._. Ever since I've become an Advanced Reviewer, I'll check to see whose requested, and everytime it's someone new and the last ones are in the list of new ones.
I won't even vote unless I see more then the required two reviews. But it seems it doesn't even matter.

I have just requested advanced status, and while I only have 2 reviews posted, I have written MANY more posts on my blog for EF. Now that they have discontinued their blog program I am really looking forward to being a part of the onsite review program.

Hope my newbie looking profile doesn't scare everyone off

Well that's definitely interesting. I guess I'm glad that I went through the mentor program because at least that way I learned some things before I got pushed through to advanced reviewer. Thanks for all your feedback!

I was super bummed that they discontinued the blogger program! I absolutely loved doing sponsored posts for Eden.

I just got voted in and I only applied less than 24 hours ago. I'm not complaining that I got in so fast, but it really wasn't hard to get in.

I was wondering about this. I was actually really nervous about requesting an upgrade, expecting it to be a big deal. I wound up getting approved within the same day though, which surprised me quite a bit. I suppose now it's just a matter of getting my rating up, and being more detailed in reviews.

I was nervous when I submitted my upgrade request as well and was voted in quickly. I was very thankful, and try to make sure I look at everyone who is submitting a request now. But no, I haven't seen anyone be denied yet.

I don't vote for anyone to get through. I prefer they did away with that aspect of the site and require people to go through the mentor program.

LOL! I doubt it. I've seen those who at least should have worked on their technique and worked with a Mentor or 10 first, but if they go up for a Vote, the same three fracking people will vote them in.

*sigh*
