They're actually really nice, in my experience. They're nice and slick, extremely sanitary, and are just great for anal play.

Glass (and steel) can also be used for temperature play. Run it under hot water for a while before trying it out (not too hot though).

IMO nothing beats hard materials, stainless and glass are my top two. The textures (if any) are felt better, they provide better pressure and are much easier to clean/keep sanitized.
The hard materials will feel bigger than softer ones so be prepared for that. A 1 1/4" diameter glass toy will feel much bigger than a silicone toy of the same size.

Depending on the toy, absolutely!
We've got a glass butt plug that is great, and have definitely used glass dildos anally. They lube up nicely and have a good solid feel to them. Just be careful to be a little more gentle with penetration.

I just got a few glass probes and I do like them. For me I have to warmed up before using them. They can feel larger than they are since the have no give at all. I stay around 1.25 with glass.

First, always warm up your toy to body temperature or slightly above it unless you specifically want to do temperature play.
Second, always use lube - good lube. You don't need much, and it can be whatever type you want, but use it.

You can insert too fast and tear your anus, you can bruise something inside, or you can even perforate your rectum if you're really reckless.
Fourth: be careful in storage. Hard materials can nick or chip, and for glass this produces a stress point where it can break, and on metal it produces sharp edges. Use pouches or other things to keep them from being manhandled in storage. Glass toys are sturdier than drinking glasses, but better safe than sorry.

One big thing to keep an eye on when buying is the base - your butt cheeks can press against it and it can become uncomfortable after a while, or if it's a loop/ball/whatever you might not be able to sit down while wearing the toy.
