These are my first beads and I want to start cheap in case I don't like them.

Is there a difference in these toys? If so, which should I get?

You should provide a Other option! These anal beads are sometimes hard to clean. Plastic is kind of icky, if you know what I mean. I just haven't read favorable comments on their reviews. You should save you money and look into some glass plugs!

I just got a set of these and I like them much better than the old ones that are connected with a string. These are pliable and I'm intimidated by the stiff glass ones at this time. The ones with the strings got gross really fast and you couldn't clean them. These are inexpensive so if you don't like them you aren't out a bunch of money.

The issue with those is that your anus and rectum has a lot of bacteria; fecal matter is gross, we all are aware of that. But with a porous material like that the bacteria from inside you can actually get under the surface of the toy and colonize, which can actually lead to an over abundance of bacteria (or introducing new bacteria that was drawn to any left over fecal matter on the beads) being introduced into the digestive track.
In short, with these beads you'll never be able to wash off all of the poo-germs. Which is super ucky. So I'd recommend spending $7 more on these.

They really are very similar, so probably the cheaper for now. There's others that seem better, but are also more expensive.

They're both pretty similair
06/10/2012
They both look similar shape wise. But I'd save up for something made out of safer materials. Two on the safety meter is very low for anal use.

I wouldn't get jelly for anal.

I wouldn't go with beads as a first toy. They can be hard to insert, provide more of a "one shot" stimulation, and can be hard to clean.
For a first anal toy I'd go with fingers or a probe. You can thrust with them and provide directed pressure. If you want the "bloopiness" of a bead string you can get silicone bead sticks that are easier to insert (see the Tantus Ripple).
Silicone is a great starter material for anal play because it's safe, easy to clean, and lasts forever. Unlike glass or metal it's soft, so you don't have to worry about poking yourself.

Get something nonporous or it's a one-time-use toy.

I don't think there is much difference if at all...

Like everyone else has said, buying silicone or an other safe material actually saves money in the long run. I wouldn't use cheap jelly beads, as they hold on to bacteria. (I actually had a set of jelly beads, and I got rid of them when I learned that dangers of jelly, especially using porous material anally or any way!)
There are nice silicone beads available, but if you are just starting out (like Scott said) a plug or a probe will be easier to use, unless you have a partner who knows what they are doing with beads.

Good idea to start "cheap", but NOT the "balls on a weak string" type. WE love anal play and I have a whole collection of anal toys, but beads just never did anything for me (or my hubby either). I don't like that big/small/big/small feeling. Give me a nice, smooth, thin, long anal toy any day.

The Love Pacifier 10X is a silicone TPR mix, that is also a probe bead hybrid.
Or the 10X Silicone-TPR Beads, they are fun, but harder to use until you know what you are doing.
The Love Pacifier Plug is a good starter plug.

I'm agreeing with Ryuson and say go with sex in the shower silicone beads.

What is the benefit of Silicone/TPR mixes? It seems that they have the problemf of TPR/TPE/jelly without the benefits of silicone.

They look the same lol

They look about the same. Although honestly I would spend a tiny bit more to get some silicone beads. Jelly and PVC materials hold bacteria, and since that is something you're gonna be putting up your poo hole... it's not the best idea. If you only plan on using them for a couple uses then maybe but otherwise just save up a bit more and get some silicone beads. It will be a better and safer investment in the long run. I own the flexi felix which is really nice: link

They are really the same toy just small difference and you never really want to go cheap with things that go inside you.
07/07/2012
Anything without string! I agree, don't go too cheap!!
07/18/2012
The Anal 101 beads looks like they have a little more progression, but my first set was the X-10 beads and they were pretty good - still have them.
07/18/2012
I would choose something silicone for safety and quality reasons.
07/18/2012
I have no idea about these.

While these toys are virtually the same, i would recommend a toy made from better material. Posh has a silicone anal beat set, While hustler toys also has some silicone beads very similar in shape to the ones you have listed here. Both are body safe and relatively cheap (being under $25 before taxes/shipping).
