Choosing the right Pure Plug

Contributor: eatpills eatpills
Hi Everyone,

I've been trying butt plugs for the past few months and decided that it's time for me to get my first Pure Plug However, as the Pure Plug is a fairly large investment sex toy-wise, I want to be sure that I purchase the size that fits fairly easily, yet filling enough.

Here is my current roster of butt plugs:

1) Doc Johnson Expando butt plug (link). Uninflated, this slides in with relative ease, but will slip out (unless inflated). The girth of this toy is 4.9 inches and it's width is 1.5-1.6 inches (uninflated).

2) Red Boy Large Butt Plug (link). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fully insert this plug yet. It's girth is 6.75 inches and it's width is 2.25 inches.

3) Tantus Ryder (link). This plug fits with no issues at all and stays put considering it's size. It's girth is 4.5 inches and it's width is 1.5 inches.

Now onto the Pure Plugs:

Small - Diameter: 1 inch
Medium - Diameter: 1.25 inches
Large - Diameter: 1.5 inches

My dilemma: The toys that I own and fit without issues (i.e. 1 and 3) are generally considered to be medium-sized butt plugs. These both have diameters of about 1.5 inches. However, the 1.5 inch Pure Plug is considered to be large-sized...and my only toy designated as large doesn't fit...

Everything is pointing towards the fact that I should be getting the large Pure Plug...but what does everyone think? Are there any differences in inserting a Pure Plug considering it's bulbous shape?

Thanks and I hope to hear from owners of the Pure Plug!

I think you should go with the Large.. I have the Small, and it is quite small and comfortable. It is curved and kind of pops in - I found it very easy to insert. The shape ensures an easier entry than a more rounded tip. Just remember that it has no give and is a little more weighty than the plugs you've experienced.

I'd say go with the large as well. I have the small and medium ones, and they are easy to insert and a bit heavy to boot.

eatpills, I recently did a review of the love pacifier begineer as I was curious about getting the Pure plugs as well. You may want to try the Advanced model as it's about the same size as the large. In your position, looking at the toys you've used I would definently say go with the large. It's not available yet, but I am looking to get the cyberglass perfect p-spot when it comes out. It's quite a bit larger so it maybe a bit of a stretch but I think it's worth looking into depending on your use for it.

Thank you for your replies.

I did some more looking around and came across this specs document from njoy's website: link

The document states that it's images are actual sizes. If that's true, it would seem like my 1.5 inch toys match up more closely with the medium Pure Plug. Can anyone who owns a Pure Plug confirm that the document is a representation of the toy's "actual size"?

I've got the 2.0 and it matches their drawing perfectly, but make sure your PDF reader is zoomed to "100%" or "actual size". And of course it's still possible that the calculated DPI is wrong, so check the dimensions against a ruler (the same way the "view actual size" button on EF works).

Because they're not rotationally symmetric like a cylinder or cone, it's a bit tricky to say what the precise width or diameter of a Pure Plug is. At least the 2.0 is slightly wider in the plane that they've drawn it in (parallel to the handle, in the plane containing the handle and the curved stem) than it is on an axis perpendicular to that ("coming out of the page"). In other words, it's slightly flattened out, so a section will be smaller than a circle of the full diameter.

Since it's steel, it can't get any narrower when you squeeze it, so your body has to do all the stretching to accomodate. In my experience, this is not a problem; you don't want to force anything in, but rather relax and stretch until it goes in easily. Also offsetting the rigidity is how slick the mirror-finish 316 stainless is with just a little bit of lube.

Hope this helps...

I am a major NJoy fan and my b/f and me have 3 Njoy plugs, md,lg and 2.0. The NJoy is completely different from all the other butt plugs we have and use. Size is one issue but the NJoy is so easy to insert and the sizes we have all stay in place. You didn't say if you were male or female but I use a med during sexual intercourse (provides awesome sensation to my partners cock through my vaginal wall). I will insert either the large or the 2.0 during solo play. I wear either the med or lg driving and going out. (great for dancing!) My b/f wears the lg frequently and also inserts the lg or 2.0 during masturbation.
The stainless steel, design and weight makes insertion so smooth...and wearing so comfortable and titillating.
So if you are f., I would suggest the med, male the large, based also on you comfort level with the anal plugs you have.
The NJoy does not lend itself to manipulation during use. it is for me a stay put plug. Other plugs are designed for thrusting play during use...most anyway.
Hope this makes sense, I'm tired.....

Thanks to everyone for their input

After looking at the drawings and at my current selection of toys, I think I'm going to start with the medium and definitely moving up to the large in the next few months (and possibly the 2.0).

Before I order, I have a final question: compared to conventional plugs, how does the additional weight of the Pure Plug add to the experience? For instance, is there a greater sensation of fullness?

...or not.

I finally decided to place my order today for the large. I did so thinking about the Ryder that I currently own and how unnoticeable (in terms of size) and unsuitable (i.e. it starts to irritate my cheeks after less than an hour of wear) it is for long term wear.
