I usually just go to the bathroom a bit before hand, wipe things good, and then insert whatever plug I plan ot play with that evening.
Yes, there is occasionally a mess.. but it isn't a huge deal. The biggest problem I usually have to deal with is a lube mess lol

I almost always get clean before anal sex/butt plug use. The main reason is that it helps me relax. Sometimes I even shower after cleaning to help further relax myself. I usually do these because I like bigger plugs/dildos, and I would rather be focused on the pleasure than worry about a mess.

I usually clean my toys after, with a anti-bacterial soap and plenty of hot water, so that they are ready for the next time.I do this so I can hide them from the grand kids finding them, they found a dildo that was left in the bed.

I usually wait till I've "cleared the pipes", and use either a wipe or take a shower. I'm not bothered by anything being on my plug afterwards. It's not too much of a surprise, considering it was in my butt. lol

I wont insert anything if I need to go but other than that I keep myself plugged whenever the mood strikes. A little clean up is worth it, I expect it anyways. But there are times I can have it in for 8-10 hours overnight and in the morning the only thing on them is clear lube.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I had an interesting experience with my first long term wear plug. I'm hoping not to have to enema every single time. As log as I can make sure the remnants of whatever was in the pipes gets fully cleaned (smell and all) off the plug, I'm good.
