How often do you do it? We have been doing it for years, but if it has been a long time (a couple months ) since someting has been in there it will still hurt even today.

It really depends on how often you do it and for how long you have done it. Lube can certainly help, as well as trying to warm up with toys.

If you keep on having anal while it hurts you're training yourself to associate pain with anal, and it will continue.
