I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering how slippery glass gets when it's lubed.

Considering that it has a little bulge at the end, I really don't see why it couldn't be used for anal use.

It wouldn't be, without a base and all, but as long as you're careful and don't let go of the glass, you should be fine with out a base.

Generally a thick ball on the end like that makes a toy safe for anal, especially given how long the thing is in total.
