i think starting off by yourself would be a great way to learn what you like and what works for your body in an environment where you aren't pressured or self conscious. It's always a good idea to try something new alone and get to know the toy before using it with a partner. "As pleasurable" is hard to quantify exactly and will depend on the individual but i think using it alone is a great place to start.
However, this toy is made of PVC. I'd recommend looking for something silicone since it's safer. PVC is only a 2 on the Eden safety scale while silicone is a 10.
