Is this type of shape safe? (And need a safety guide)

New reviewer here & I'm a little behind on my anal sex info. Playing around with this vibe & was curious about safety of this shape for anal play. I've picked up on the not using anything without a base for anal play, but I'm wondering how much base is needed. I see a number of anal toys for sale here that don't seem to have a huge amount of rim at the base. Would a vibe with a bulge like I have above be safe or is that still too... suck-up-able?

Anyone able to point me to a good guide? I've looked around & did find a couple anal toy guides but they didn't cover this.

Thanks!

There is not a guide per-say, but I'll give you my two cents.

As far as that toy, it should be fine providing you keep a good hold. Generally you want a base that is bigger than the insertable part, as that toy has. Looking at the toy though, that seam could cause some irritation or damage to the delicate tissues of the anus and rectum. Assuming you have use it vaginally, as long as you could not feel it there, you should be fine. I recommend a condom as well, that seem can and will harbor nasties and the vagina will not like them.

As far as other toys. The rectum is about (plus or minus) 7" deep, add at least three inches for a handle (more is better) so something in the 10-11" range is relatively safe. I would not consider anything shorter unless you are sure you can keep a good hold of it or attach a string or cord.

Harder materials do not conform to the rectum so they will be harder to get in all the way. That's not to say they won't, I have got my Njoy Eleven in all but two inches. Softer materials can bend around the various curves of the rectum and even enter the Sigmoid colon, so longer is better here.

What is boils down to is this, is it worth the risk of going to the ER? Are you sure you can keep a good hold of the toy? More often than not it is better to just buy a anal specific toy.

Based on the shape, this toy looks safe for play where one partner is stimulating the other and can keep a good hold on the base. Wouldn't want that button or the seam to be pushed through an orifice.

I would caution someone from using it alone, especially trying to sit on it the way people like to do with plugs. The absence of a wide, flared base makes this toy unsuitable for that kind of play.

Thanks Tim & Rawhide. Those answers were both very helpful. Tim - appreciate you taking the time to answer so thoroughly!

Tim - I agree with your comments regarding the seams on the vibe I linked & some other factors making it a no-go, but was just curious if the bulgy shape would be sufficient as a safety measure.

Nod, thanks Rawhide. I was thinking it would probably only be good with a partner with a good grip, if at all.

Just trying to collect all my facts so I can cover all the pertinent review info. It's a lot to catch up with all at once since I'm new to toys. Thanks again!

NO! Not an anal toy... so don't insert it! lol. I don't always say this with every toy, but for one... this toy has seams, for two, I don't think it was meant to be inserted, and third of all I owned this toy and it is a shitty plastic toy with small pieces of plastic that can hurt you if they weren't melted right.

However, if you feel this toy is okay to use, just be sure to keep a hold on it. It has the right shape.

No, in fact, this is not safe for anal play as it can be sucked inside. The base is not flared and doesn't provide a good and hold as it is slick when lubed. Remember that the muscles of the lower bowel are very powerful and this could slip out of your hands during play. I have had it happen to me during vaginal play so I know it could happen. If you MUST use ths as an anal toy despite the warnings here then devise some way to retrieve the toy should it slip on you, don't rely on hand strength!

Honestly, Ive always been a big fan of if it looks like it could be a problem assume that its going to be just to be safe.

Thank you all for the information, concern... and stern warnings! I'm not actually planning to do anything with this toy but write about it now, so no need to panic! (Though I do appreciate that ya'll are concerned & knowledgeable about safety.)

I've done my testing & anal insertion wasn't a part of it, nor did I intend to go there. The vibe's shape just brought the question to mind & I used it as an example of what I was asking about regarding a bulgy shape vs. a real flared base.

Just gathering information for reviewer knowledge & my own personal information.

"The-IT-Guy-And-M y-Secretary"-- Honestly, Ive always been a big fan of if it looks like it could be a problem assume that its going to be just to be safe. A very wise policy & that's where I also lean if I can't find the information I need on something.

Thanks again all!
