In my experience the key to having something stay in is the ratio of how large the maximum size is compared to the neck. Weight and smoothness come into play - but if you have a fairly large plug with a narrow neck - like a PurePlug you have a chance.

Alas the PurePlugs do not vibrate. For vibrations I would look at the Lovense Hush plug. It comes in 1.5" (which my wife likes) or 1.75" - the one that I prefer. However if things get really amped up, she'll use the 1.75", that makes for very tight vaginal intercourse.

Plugs with much bigger head compared to the neck are the best option IMO. Such shape of the butt plug allows muscles to snap onto the neck and not let it pop out.
