Dear PrincessMilk, hello!

Welcome to the wonderful world of anal adventures - hope you enjoyed your first plug.

Now, to your issue - to help you more effectively, I must know what kind of smell you are referring to? Is it the smell of the toy itself - like, from outside the box? or is it a bodily smell?

There might be different ways of getting rid of an unpleasant odor. Your technique also depends on how your butt plug is equipped. Does it have a battery compartment? Does it have gemstones or other embellishments?

As some general advice for right now, here's our thorough guide to how to clean sex toys depending on their specifications.

Hope you find it helpful. Have a lovely day!

If there is a residual smell - chances are it's not really silicone - but some cheap imitation. 100% silicone toys never retain odors or bacteria. I'd throw it out immediately and buy something of higher quality.

I suggest cleaning out before doing any type of anal play. A simple water douche bottle like they sell here will suffice. And get either glass or stainless plugs. Also repeat cleaning with the toy cleaners. The smell should subside each time. Probably not totally but good enough to use again.

You can make a solution of 5 parts household bleach/ 95 part water and soak it overnight. Then make the same ratio of distilled vinegar and soak it for an hour. Then wash it with antibacterial soap. A gal asked this very same question about her favorite dildo. After doing all the above, she left it on her window flower sill for few days. Said the fresh air really helped also.
