Is it safe to sit in a chair with a plug in? Or is there a risk of it breaking at the neck?

I haven’t heard anyone saying it broke. I suggest getting one that’s at least somewhat flexible. I sit with mine while working at times

I've never had any issues with sitting in a chair. I have the Tantus Perfect Plug Plus and it's extremely comfortable even with the vibrating bullet inside the plug.

I’ve never had or heard of that happening, but that’s not to say it couldn’t I guess. Makes sense to use a flexible, high quality, silicone one.

Which plug is in question? Which one are you asking about?

Someone could probably answer your ? better with more details.
Is it a silicone or TPR and fflexible
Is the neck very thin and fragile?
Are you sitting on a wooden or metal chair or a cushioned padded one?
You can always get one those neck cushions with opening in the middle and siton of that. middehat

After reading this, I looked it up and I’m definitely curiously interested in trying out the Tantus Perfect Plug Plus

You should be fine. As it is with every toy that you use anally, you should make sure that the base is flared enough, and that the width of the neck of the toy and the base aren't similar sizes. In 2020 I wore a plug 24/7 for a couple of months (taking it out to go to the bathroom and clean it, of course) and I've never had any issues with it. Don't be afraid to try it! I would start with a silicone plug if you're worried about it breaking at the neck because silicone is a little more forgiving than glass or metal. Think of a silicone dildo - it moves, stretches, bends, and you can use it in any position...the same will apply for a silicone butt plug. Personally, I like to use glass or metal because they don't harbor any smells. Hope this helps and eases your worry!
