Sterilization: Do you sterilize anal toys after using it Anally?

I use anti-bacterial hand wash or anti-bacterial toy cleaner and hot water to wash mine. I feel they are safely cleaned.

I use soap and water and antibacterial wash. I am the only one to use my anal toys (My Man uses them, but on me) and I know they get clean enough with the process I use.
I rarely have enough privacy in the kitchen to sterilize sex toys.
My kids are around a lot, and I really don't want a kid walking in when I have a pot of boiling butt plugs on the stove!

wash it down after each use, boil after a few.

Nope, just soap and water.

I use antibacterial soap and water after every use, and occaisionally wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. Now that I think about it, that is sterilizing...oops. I was thinking about boiling, and I never boil them because I have roommates and we share kitchen stuff.

I agree with Shellz31. Clean after each use and wipe dry. I may do a second wash for some silicone toys which may have crevices harder to clean just for good measure.

I only use silicone toys with anal play, and give them a good soap & water rinse-down. If I were going to share, then yeah, I'd probably sterilize them, but it's just me.

We share a ton of microorganisms on a routine basis, so for us soap and water work just fine. Ever few months I'll wipe everything down with alcohol - just because...

My anal toys get boiled more often than my vaginal toys, but it's still not so often. I'm the only one using them, so I'm not especially worried. ALL my toys get a thorough cleaning after each use, and anal toys are often washed twice.
11/29/2011
I use soap and water. That seems to get the job done for me rather than boiling.
11/29/2011
I can't boil my toys after every time because my kid is around most of the time when he's not in school. So mostly I just use antibacterial soap and hot water or a toy cleaner on them when I can't boil them.
11/29/2011
I just use antibacterial soap and water to clean it off. My toys are all non-porous so they are aptly cleaned.

I vote that I do sometimes. I boil every now and again just for good measure. Most of the time, I thoroughly lather up my stuff with antibacterial soap and hot water, rinse and dry thoroughly. This is usually fine; they go back in their designated bags and such. This way, even if there is some lingering bacteria, it won't jump from an anal toy to a toy I use vaginally. I wouldn't go between anal and vaginal without boiling or using a bleach solution first, though. Just not worth risking a UTI or the like; I get them veryveryvery easily because I have a short urethra.
But for day to day? All of my anal toys are 100% non-porous (metal and silicone) and 98% of them only go in my butt, never my vagina. So, really, a few remaining microbes aren't a huge deal to me. Cleaning with antibacterial soap and hot water gets rid of most stuff, and ensures I'm not spreading massive amounts of germs all over. I store my butt stuff separate from anything that could be contaminated by germies, anyway.

It depends on how dirty, but normally, just soap and water with a little toy cleaner to wipe off.

I wish there was an "other" option!
If I use a toy anally (say my Ryder for example) and then knew that I was going to use it next (like, the next day) I just wash it normally with antibacterial soap and water. If my partner was going to use it next, then I would boil/bleach it.

Never boiled or bleached a toy, even those I share with the wife. I just use Climax Burst toy cleaner and hot water. Have not had any issues yet.

I just use toy cleaner personally. I've never bothered boiling a toy.

Everyone seems to use boiling, does anyone toss their toys into the top shelf of the dishwasher?

The only issue with this is that not all dishwashers reach boiling temperatures during their cycles. If you have a dishwasher that does, that's a very viable option, though!

To properly sterilize an anal toy you would need an autoclave or other super high temperature device. A dishwasher or boiling water isn't enough to sterilize an item though it will kill anything that could harm you pretty reliably. Soap and water is about all you need for most toys especially if they are made of high quality materials.

I rarely get a chance to properly sterilize them, so antibacterial hand soap has to do for the in-betweens.
11/30/2011
Off course -after each time!

Oh, yes. Heck, down at the bottom of the ocean, there are animals able to withstand the boiling water pumped out by super-heated vents, so it's not all that strange that some microorganisms can, as well. But as far as anal play goes, any germs that could be a health hazard will be killed through boiling. And like Airen Wolf said, soap and water will do the trick for high quality materials.

Putting a pot of boiling water on the stove after every session is not very practical.

I'm the only one that uses the anal toys so I just clean it with toy wipes or soap/water.
