I voted other because neither of those kits are sterilisable which, in my book, is must have for anal toys- especially if they are going to be swapped between partners. I also do not like that the bases on the vibrators are pretty much nonexistent and, though it looks like you're getting a lot with the Kobe Tai kit, all of the light purple pieces are just hard plastic sleeves for the standard vibrator that's included in the kit.
I've picked a few things that I think would go well with a self-made anal kit. They are all 100% silicone and thus are able to be sterilised. It will cost a little bit more than the kits you've listed but because they can be safely swapped between partners you won't have to purchase two sets. They will also last forever as long as they're cleaned and not used with silicone based lube. I recommend Maximus for a thick water-based lube that's great for anal play if you don't already have a favorite.
This is an excellent beginners plug, I have this one and I still use it. link
This is a good moderate plug, a step up from the first one. It has a goon narrow neck that will make it less likely to fall out and a narrow base for comfortable extended wear if you wanted to experiment with that. It is also large enough that it can be thrust in and out without popping the sphincter over the neck and it would feel really nice. link
This is good for gentle texture without the sometimes unpleasant abrupt POP between standard style anal beads. I really like toys like this! link
I hope this helps, if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.

This. I would definitely say it's a good idea to buy several good quality, hygienic pieces than buy a kit that's porous and hard to clean.

I would just go with a few good items that you'll be able to keep using. Go for toys you can sterilize.

buy few small things-make yoru own kit

I would definitely look into something like this:
Tantus Slim
This little guy is sterilizable, while also being an ideal size for a beginner. A lot of beginners' kits are made of materials that can't be sterilized, which is super important when anal play is on the menu.

I voted for other, even though there are some things about the two kits that you have listed that would be a good start. The main thing that comes to mind is what exactly are you planning to do, are you just starting out with any type of anal play or is anal play something that you know you and your partner will more than likely enjoy.
It will come down to what you are willing to spend to find out whether you like it or not. As long as one of you already know that you enjoy the feeling then I would say go with the Kobi, this kit gives you a variety of things to try an from there you can start to purchase the type of toy that you and yours find the most pleasurable.
Anything anal should be done with care as I am sure you know. All toys can be covered with a condom to provide partnered play with the same toy. The best thing would be to take it slow, once you do decide on what kit or perhaps the single toy that you want to try. If anything out right hurts, stop…..! Relaxation and trust and good lube are a big thing to keep in mind with anal.

I agree with the others. I would go with some better more safe products. I started with a jelly toy and quickly moved onto silicone.

It looks like you get about 4-6 low quality toys of various sizes in those kits for $30-$50 dollars. A better idea is to try playing around with fingers and see what types of stimulation you like. Do you like thrusting? Get a dildo - 1" if you're comfortable with about one finger only, 1.5 inches with 3. Like something just sitting around in there? Get a plug. Like bumpy bloopies? Get a bead stick (stick so you can push it in as well as pull it out). Get it in silicone and it will be safe, clean and last for ever. Smaller toys are about $25-$30 for a really nice silicone toy, so for the price of the more expensive kit which probably has very few toys you'll use more than once or twice you can get something you can use the rest of your life (and very well might, because it matches your size and wants).

I'm not huge on texture, so I'm digging on the pink set.
As for the material's safety, the thing people tend to forget is a condom fixes the safety problem. No need to sterilize the toy if you wrap it up.

Neither are wonderful - I would go silicone and starting off with plugs and dildos around 1 inch to start and move your way up from there.

Yes, but from another perspective...the thing people do tend to forget is the condom, and if they forget the condom the safety does become an issue.

I prefer to stick with safe toys that can be properly cleaned.

I agree on getting a few nice silicone slim plugs & small flared dildos rather than a kit. Silicone is boil-able and bleach-able so is much more hygienic.
02/14/2011
Less expensive jelly or plastic toys were the first ones I tried because I didn't want to invest a lot while I was unsure what I wanted. Variety seems like a good idea, but the lower quality frustrated me. I've since thrown out all of them, and now strictly prefer silicone.
02/14/2011
I would spend a bit more money and purchase silicone toys. If you buy the kits you will probably throw them out relatively soon because they just aren't meant to last. I would definately suggest getting a small plug and a graduated toy, such as the ripple large

Agreed, you would benefit in buying quality toys that are 100% sanitary... especially since they would be anal...

You linked to the Love Pacifier which is a plug I'm very interesting in buying but I'm worried about the raised seam which runs through the center. Did this effect you? Were you able to smooth or file it?

I've picked a few things that I think would go well with a self-made anal kit. They are all 100% silicone and thus are able to be sterilised. I feel the rectal dilator kit that you can buy for cheap on amazon is the perfect thing for opening up and taking larger sized toys ( as well as make anal more enjoyable) .
They're made of hard plastic, so no probing play with em (since you dont want to bruise), but as a plug used for stretching the hard material is a great help.
After you're comfortable relaxing and fitting larger sized objects with those plugs move on to probing.

yea.. it's best to make your own kit

I voted other b/c I have the Juli Ashtons and it's nice to have size progression, but it is not nice to have the awful smellthat comes with it.

I would never buy anal toys that cannot be sterilized. you're better off with something slim and silicone or glass to start off with, not a kit, just one anal-safe toy, and graduate yourself when you're ready. I've always thought kits were a waste of money and generally, being made of rubber, unsafe.
10/29/2011
