Which size do you consider to be a 'true' medium?

I am starting my next review on the Mood Naughty Medium plug, with a 3 1/4" circumference. The Con that keeps coming up in almost every review is that it is too small to be called a medium. Out of curiosity, I want to know what the EF community considers to be a 'true' medium sized anal plug.

Personally, I don't think there are hard lines as to what defines beginner, intermediate, and advanced users. Generally, I consider around 1" to 1-1/4" diameter to be between beginner and intermediate, and 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" diameter between intermediate to advanced. Another thing to consider is the material. Harder materials such as glass/steel/wood/plast ic do not have any give and so generally will require a smaller size relative to a softer material such as silicone.

1.25 to 1.5 or so i would think. i just got a big glass plug and it is too huge for me now at 2 3/8!! i gotta work up to it

1-1/8 diameter to 1-1/2" diameter Between 1-1/2" and 2" is big, bigger than that is very big.

1 1/2 I think would be a medium for most.

The measurement itself isn't the only factor. Steel and glass have no give, and so will feel bigger than silicone, for example. Also, the shape, particularly the taper, is a big factor. The Ryder feels huge the first time one uses it, because the tip is so blunt, while the Pure Plugs just slide into place due to the shape.

Bit large for myself, 2" is a good start area.
