When you get a new dildo, do you measure it? Do you find it to be accurate as described by the manufacturer?

I always measure because

1) that's the way I am
2) the measurements are often off by 1/4 or sometimes more

Yeah me too. Sometimes they just look wayyy off, that is the only time I bother to actually measure.

Seems they oversell it a bit in my experience, like it's supposed to be an 8in. and it's more like 7 1\2, same thing with girth.

I've never measured them either, but now I feel like I want to. lol I would definitely measure it if I were doing a review on an item though.

I put girth measurements in my EF searches since they're generally pretty accurate, give or take a quarter. Before I buy it, I usually check out the material firmness and eyeball the actual size picture before I buy it. I know by now what will fit and feel good and what won't.

I never even thought of it. Although I suppose I would've if I had noticed it seemed off. Now if I start measuring everything, at least I won't feel crazy. Hah!

Sometimes I think the measurements are a little off, but I can't be sure because I lost my little measuring thing. :/

I don't measure them unless they seem off to me from what is described on the site. Maybe now I'll start though.

Yes, I do too when it comes for reviews but not for my personal toys, unless something appears way off, but even then.

Not beyond a simple eyeball and a test fit.

I tend to just trust the descriptions... I don't think I ever measured one

I don't measure right when I get the toy, I measure when I write a review. Most of the time, the measurements are close or right on. The only time I always get differences is with glass pieces, but that's understandable if they're made by hand and you can't expect every piece to be exact.

I always measure these days, after a bad experience buying anal toys which were bigger than advertised.

I don't really measure mine but I do read the reviews in advance that people post to see if the actual size differs from the product specs.

I only measure my toys when reviewing and most of the time the info from manufacturer is correct.

We don't normally measure the toy unless I am doing a review on it.

Interesting that i ran across this thread. I just purchased a glass toy from a company that i formerly thought of as one of the best. The size of the head of the toy was so far off from the video. Turns out the company redesigned the toy. Probably to save a few cents per item. Now the quality of the toy is shit.
