Changing the color of a dildo

Has anyone ever tried this? Or done it by accident?

Here's the sitch: I've got a cock I love (Silky link ) that is bendable and therefore breakable. I just break and replace over and over cause I love it that much. But Silky used to come in black, which has now been discontinued and the only current offerings are pink and a really purplish blue. Nice colors, but not for me.

I have other black cocks, sure, but I really miss having a black Silky. I finally broke down and bought the purple one. Then I had a thought: Silky is elastomer, and I read all the time about how elastomer toys are porous and they get discolored by being left on other items (plastics or vinyl and such). So I have no doubt that it is entirely possible to change Silky's color, especially to the darkest of colors.

But it's very important to me that Silky remains usable. I don't want absorbtion from anything toxic or unsafe for use on delicate membranes. Color change ain't worth that.

So far I've looked into Henna, which comes in black and might have some potential. I've heard of other elastomer toys (like packers) getting stained by tea bags, but I have no idea where to find a pitch black tea (I know there is "black tea" but it isn't really black in color).

Any suggestions?

You cannot dye rubbers and plastics, exactly. The chemical itself (a thermoplastic elastic polymer) will not absorb the dye after it has been cured. However, it can adsorb the dye between molecules, but there is no guarantee that the dye will stay there.

In my opinion, I wouldn't attempt to dye it if you plan on inserting it ever again.

I really wouldn't risk this. I guess it is possible that it would absorb some dye, but I wouldn't bet on it being even in color, or safe for insertion.

For one, it's totally unsafe to try and dye a sex toy. Even though it seems like your choices of henna and tea are natural, the henna dye could possibly have other chemicals in it that are not safe for internal use.

Maybe you could wear really dark sunglasses while using it.

I know what you mean! It's such a disappointment when really sexy toys aren't available in really sexy colors. But there are colorful condoms available, and putting a condom on a toy can heighten the fun, especially if it's a realistic toy. If black is your preference, check out Lifestyles Tuxedo condoms. Those are my favorite, which my bf (who prefers brightly colored lingerie, etc. for me) doesn't understand. Haha.
