After being bummed that nearly all vixskin Dildos are skin tone colors I talked to Vixen about it. They said that they sell way more skin tone Dildos, to a degree in which they don't even bother manufacturing Fun colored Vixskins (minus raquel). I for one like my toys to like toys rather than imitation penis's. Face facts, its a toy, a fun and enjoyable things to play with. So cool colors are all the better. Who are these Skintone Dildo buyers? Men? Women? Transgender? Heteros? Gay? I have no idea. Am I really the minority?

Face what facts? Just because you like them colored doesn't mean that everyone else does.
I personally prefer skin tone, for use as prosthetics. For dildo use, I enjoy fun colors, sure. Many people enjoy a multitude of colors with their dildos/prosthetics. It's not really a certain group of people.

I can see how they'd sell more natural colors, I think it would appeal to a wider range of people that way. I for one don't care too much, though fun colors are slightly more my favorite. Keep in mind though, that your opinion isn't necessarily the "right" opinion and I don't think anyone needs to "face facts" and the idea that neon is the better, is just opinion..that's not a fact. As it is you asked the manufacturer and they told you what sells better..THOSE are the facts.

I use each of them for different reasons. The realistic ones are nice when masturbating solo and the colored I prefer for play with hubby. There isn't really a right or wrong and one opinion isn't more important then another. It's just personal preferences and the mainstream dictates what the manufacturer's design.

I don't mean to blame, or offend. Just curious. And by face facts I mean, we are all congregating at an online adult toy store. Traditionally toys are colorful. As for groups of people or genres and stereotypical preferences as a whole, I was unaware of, and told that lesbians like skin tones. So painting with a broad brush I was wondering if there are other majorities that prefer them as well.

I wouldn't say that "traditionally toys are colored." Honestly, and this is just me, but 10 years ago, when shopping for sex toys, I found a lot more natural toned items on the shelf than colored. Not that there weren't brightly colored toys, but it has only been recently with companies designing toys that are more discreet and differently shaped that I've noticed a more brightly colored array.

If a toy doesn't have the realistic penis shape, then I won't touch skin coloured.
For some reason though - I'm not so keen on skin color silicone or Vixskin dildos which is weird.
I'm hunting down a nice large one (for my xmas order) in either of those materials and I think I'd prefer a black one.
If anyone has any suggestions on large (girthy but also requires at least 6" in length) pure silicone or vixskin dildos, I'm very interested in hearing from you.

I do not like realistic things, they creep me out, all disembodied and severed-looking. My most realistic toys are the Fun Factory Curve, in purple, and the 02 Revolution in ice blue. Everything else I have is whimsical or artistic, and fortunately there are plenty of options in glass, metal, and silicone that match my tastes.
I do have the Raquel sitting in my shopping cart right now -- it's the only Vixen toy I will buy, and I guess I'm glad they at least have that one.

I used to be completely creeped out by flesh tones, but it's worth the sacrifice to have a dildo that feels incredibly lifelike. Then again, I think the prettiest dildo I own is the glittery Leo. I see an argument for wanting or disliking both neon and flesh colors =)

I like them both. I understand the idea behind thinking "It's a toy so it should look like one." But for some people, they think the realistic thing is fun. It's like saying don't buy a realistic material because it's "Just a toy". There are a lot of realistically shaped items that come in crazy colors... So, where should the realism stop? I just think that there's a lot of products out there with a lot of options to please anybody. I myself like them both.

I wish Vixen made more fun-coloured dildos, too! VixSkin is a heavenly thing, and I would love to buy the Raquel (it's gorgeous), but it's too big for me
