When trying to figure out what size dildo you wanted, were you right the first guess? Or did it take trial and error to find something the right size?

I over estimated the first time. Then ordered again. Got it right the second time. And now the first one is not too big anymore.

No I'm usually pretty good, honestly I kept showing my bf toys and asking "is this bigger than you? Because I like you" lol and eventually I found a good one

Look at the sizes of things you know you like. Fingers, penises, existing toys - put a string around them at the point you like and divide the length by 3.14 (for diameter) or look for that number in the circumference numbers.

It took me some trial and error, because fingers don't behave like silicone dildos, and so on. I now know what size I like in terms of diameter, so I can look at a toy's stats and make a decision based on the numbers. In addition, though, shape and texture influence what I can take; a tapered, smooth dildo I can generally take more girth on than a very texturey blunt dildo, for example. So yeah, you have to get to know yourself!

Maybe its me - but it seemed the prudent thing to do was start out smaller - then work our way up. We started at 1" and quickly went to 1.5" A little while later we tried 1.75" - and that's pretty much where we are. We have a couple of 2" options but they see action only rarely.

Yep! I got average and turns out, big toys DO NOT fit me!

Lacking confidence, I started out small and slowly worked my way up. Once or twice I jumped too far and wound up with dildos that were way too big, but since then I've gotten pretty good at knowing what sizes I like best.

The only wild card is the precise softness of the material. Silicone squishiness varies between companies, and sometimes even within companies, so there's always a bit of worry when I order towards the high end of my comfort zone, since my biggest toys have to be fairly soft.

I started off small, and every one I got after that was only slighter larger than the last. I know what my limit is in silicone, but I'm still exploring glass.

Fingers (and other body parts) are a bit squishier, so when you're measuring it pays to pull the string/ribbon tighter.

I was all over the place with my first purchases. Definitely started too small... my first dildo was the right size for mere days before I was ready to go bigger, but I went too big! Lately I like medium sized hard toys; they're filling but there's no trouble with insertion. I haven't experimented with big toys much, I just stay in a comfortable range now.
