I imagine this may be hard to do without a lot of different sized toys to try. Texture and shape would also influence things. Not to mention things may change throughout the monthly cycle.

I'd be interested if anyone has ever done something semi scientific in terms of dildo size preference testing.

Penis size preference very often is dependent on who it is attached to and what else they do while pleasuring a woman. That would be even more difficult to test.

I haven't heard of any scientific studies, but I like trying different sizes and firmness. I find that most of the "average" size dildos seem kind of bid to me and I wonder if they are just right for the average woman.

I've got a pretty immense dildo collection (with lots of texture variation, most are on the firm side though); and I have tested this pretty extensively.

What I've come to is that I'm glad I have a variety to choose from. During my period I like thicker dildos (the big end of the Eleven is my standard during that week).

If I want something phallic, I usually choose something about the girth of VixSkin's Mustang, but I prefer texture usually so Tantus's Tsunami is the one that I'll reach for more often than not. But I also still love the perfect texture and firmness of my Gold Laced G.

For non-phallic, size is less of a concern than shape. I love the ball end of my NobEssence Smooth S Shape (Seduction), which is about the same as the Pure Wand's big end.

I can detail my "scientific method" further if you're curious? But even after a lot of testing, the answer is still "it depends" and "I wouldn't give up any of them."

Thanks Antipova for your comments on your collection I am new to the dildos just bought my first one last week by doc Johnson it feels so real but the girth is way to much for me the length is awesome! Keep in mind I've been a big toy girl anything from bunny vibs to just vibes but none have the girth of this bad boy so now I am wondering are there any dildos that don't have as much girth and more true to the average man but than again with the length..lol!!
